Mercredi matin, le New York Times a publié une critique de Faustina , un nouveau restaurant de Scott Conant dans le Cooper Square Hotel, par Sam Sifton . Sifton a donné au restaurant une étoile, en complimentant beaucoup de ses plats (en particulier la côtelette de porc, qui dit-il "est peut-être le meilleur de la ville") mais critiquant son aspect institutionnel "hôtel-ish". Il n'était pas content de la "salle à manger en dur" qui est connectée à un bar bondé.

Dans son article sur le blog du Diner's Journal , Sifton explique que manger à Faustina ressemble trop à manger dans un hôtel, et que tous les restaurants de l'hôtel ne le ressentent pas. Il énumère ses favoris qui le font bien, y compris Jean-Georges chez Trump , Locanda Verde chez The Greenwich Hotel , et L'atelier de Joel Robuchon chez Four Seasons (tous les trois sont aussi parmi notre liste de restaurants préférés ) .

À sa demande, ses lecteurs écrivent avec leurs favoris, dont certains des restaurants les plus récents et les plus branchés de New York, comme la trattoria romaine Maian de Danny Meyer (à l' hôtel Gramercy Park ), April Bloomfield et Breslin de Ken Friedman.
