This lovely boutique property dates back to the 1890s and exudes understated elegance, set on beautiful grounds. Highlights include a spacious outdoor pool, free breakfast, and a full-service restaurant and bar that's popular with locals and guests alike. There's also a 24-hour gym, but it's sparsely equipped. Its 76 guest rooms are bright and have contemporary decor, and all come with flat-screen TVs, Keurig coffeemakers, robes, and bathrooms with spacious walk-in showers and high-end Gilchrist & Soames toiletries, but only Suites include mini-fridges and microwaves. The upper-middle-range South Beach Biloxi Hotel & Suites proudly advertises that it's the only hotel in Biloxi situated directly on the sandy beach. This and its Miami South Beach inspired decor set it apart from other nearby properties. Originally built as private condominiums, all 99 guest rooms are suite-style with full kitchens or kitchenettes. Modern guest rooms are furnished in earth tones and each includes a pull-out sofa, flat-screen TV, and iPod dock. There are a small outdoor swimming pool, a two-treadmill fitness center, and cafe and bar serving fare like pizza and nachos. It's a better pick for longer stays than nearby properties, but past guests have complained that not all kitchens have the necessary supplies. 

The upper-middle-range Treasure Bay Casino and Hotel is a smaller and generally quieter casino hotel than many of its much larger, glitzier neighbors. Yes, it has a casino, offers five restaurants/lounges, and has a multi-level pool complex, but it still has a fairly intimate ambiance -- and it's across the street from the beach. Its 202 rooms are clean and spacious, with especially nice bathrooms that feature flat-screen TVs and rainfall showers. But, smoke tends to drift around the hotel from the casino, and rooms don’t have mini-fridges or microwaves. Rates are consistently among the lowest offered by area casino hotels and therefore, it sells out at times. A backup could be the nearby, upper-middle-range South Beach Biloxi Hotel & Suites that offers large suites with kitchenettes, though it's pricier and does not have a casino.

The 148-room Quality Inn Biloxi is a budget hotel offering decent rooms and features for the price. A huge perk of the property is its position across the street from a public beach, though it can't be seen from guest rooms. Rooms do have flat-screen TVs, mini-fridges, microwaves, and coffeemakers, but some furnishings have stains and the carpet needs to be thoroughly cleaned. The outdoor swimming pool, free continental breakfast, and Wi-Fi add to its value. Overall it's a solid economy pick, especially if you're planning on spending time at the beach or the nearby Mississippi Coast Coliseum and Convention Center.
