Villa Rosa is a charming boutique hotel situated on a cliff face overlooking both the Positano village and beach. The interiors are mostly white and neutral toned with several potted plants and bunches of fresh flowers bringing in some green elements. The building's original tiled flooring, with traditional patterns, can be found throughout the hotel, including the lobby and guest rooms. There's not much communal space here, besides the lobby and adjacent TV lounge. The TV lounge is elegantly decorated, with the same patterned tiled floors, white walls, white sofas, beige curtains, antique artwork and light fittings, and potted plants in the otherwise neutral-toned room. There are no elevators, so guests have to walk up the narrow steps to get to the higher level rooms. Overall, the atmosphere is friendly and welcoming. Previous guests have highly praised the stunning views. The secluded and romantic atmosphere attracts many couples, and rooms often book up well in advance.

Located on a narrow street on a cliff face at the top of the Positano village, Villa Rosa enjoys magnificent views of the picturesque village and sea. There are a handful of shops, restaurants, and bars within close walking distance from the hotel. It's an eight-minute walk to the Positano Beach via a footpath with many steps. The center of Positano, with more restaurants, bars, and shops is about 15 minutes away on foot. Other popular nearby towns and villages include Sorrento and Amalfi (which are both just under an hours' drive away), Pompei (an hour and 10-minute drive away), and Ravello (an hour and 15-minute drive away). There is a public parking lot a three-minute walk from the hotel, which the hotel can assist with booking. It's a four-minute walk to the nearest bus stop and an eight-minute walk to the Positano Port. There is no train station in the village. Getting to Naples International Airport takes an hour and a half by car.

The 12 rooms at Villa Rosa are spacious and decorated with elegant interiors. Decor includes original tiled floors, white walls, white antique furniture, antique artwork, and pastel and neutral colored linens, curtains, and sofas. Amenities in all rooms include air-conditioning, flat-screen TVs, mini-fridges, telephones, safes, and free Wi-Fi. No tea- and coffee-making facilities are available as guests receive breakfast with tea or coffee in their room each morning. Bathrooms also include original tiling as well as walk-in showers, hairdryers, and toiletries. The best part? All of the rooms include a large private terrace or balcony, furnished with a table, chairs, and sun loungers, and feature either village or sea views. While the rooms on the higher floors have the most breathtaking views, guests should be warned that there is no elevator in the hotel. 

Features are rather limited at Villa Rosa. The few available common areas mean guests mostly keep to their rooms while at the hotel. A free continental breakfast is served on guests' balconies every morning and includes a basket of pastries, yogurts, cereal, hams, and cheeses -- eggs and fresh fruit are available at an extra cost. There is no on-site restaurant or bar available. The only common area is a TV lounge with a few sofas and a flat-screen TV. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the hotel. Additional features include 24-hour reception, beach towels upon request, babysitting services (additional fee), and laundry services (additional fee). While there is no on-site parking, the hotel can arrange for parking (including car collection and drop-off) at a nearby parking lot. The hotel also lacks a swimming pool and any spa and fitness facilities.
