SpringHill Suites by Marriott Anaheim Maingate

Opened in 2014, the SpringHill Suites is housed in a four-floor building on a property with plants, trees, and several outdoor seating areas. The lobby is a striking, uber-stylish space with modern chairs and sofas, avant-garde light fixtures, and vivid pink, lime green, and aqua blue accents. Guests gather here, in the breakfast room, and around the outdoor pool, which is open all year long. The hotel draws tourists and baseball and hockey fans, but the guest list here skews heavily toward Disneyland tourists. With its pool and spacious suites, the hotel is a favorite among families with children. 

The SpringHill Suites is located in central Anaheim on West Ball Road, one of the major east-west thoroughfares running through the city. A pharmacy is next door and a bus stop is a half-block away, but there are few restaurants and shops in the immediate area. Disneyland Park is about a three-minute drive from the hotel, though guests generally get to the park by walking 10 minutes to the Mickey and Friends Parking Structure and catching the free Disneyland tram, or to the Anaheim ART shuttle (for a fee, runs every 20 minutes). The Anaheim Convention Center is seven minutes from the hotel by car, Angel Stadium of Anaheim is a nine-minute drive, and it's about 12 minutes by car to Honda Center (Anaheim Ducks hockey). Knott’s Berry Farm amusement park is a 17-minute drive. Reaching John Wayne Airport takes about 15 minutes by car, Long Beach Airport is a 25-minute drive, and Los Angeles International Airport is about 40 minutes to an hour (depending on traffic) from the SpringHill by car.  

The well-maintained and spacious studio and one-bedroom suites at SpringHill Suites have a minimalist, contemporary look. Expect all-white bedding, light-wood furniture and trim, and bright punches of energetic colors ranging from aqua blue to lime green. Amenities are a huge plus, as all 120 suites come with lounge chairs, sofa beds, desks with ergonomic chairs, iPod docks, 42-inch flat-screen TVs with HBO, coffeemakers, microwaves, mini-fridges, and free Wi-Fi. The one-bedroom suites feature dining tables and full kitchens with ovens, four-burner stovetops, full-size refrigerators, toasters, cookware, and tableware. The spacious, well-lighted bathrooms have a stylish, modern look. Most have showers, but some have shower/tub combos, and all have large mirrors, wide vanities, hairdryers, and Paul Mitchell toiletries. 

The SpringHill Suites has a fairly extensive set of property features. There's a heated outdoor pool, although it's narrow and small, surrounded by a patio with a hot tub, sun loungers, and some table with umbrellas. Several cardio machines and a set of free weights fill the hotel's fitness center, but there are no weight machines. The free breakfast buffet earns solid reviews from previous guests for its generous spread of scrambled eggs, bacon or sausage, potatoes, make-your-own waffles, and a wide range of cold items. There's no lunch or dinner restaurant on-site, and only a few in the immediate area, so guests generally eat near Disneyland or order in. Other amenities include two meeting rooms, a business center, laundry room, well-stocked convenience store, and 24-hour front desk with Disneyland tickets for sale. Parking is available for a daily fee (with in and out privileges), and there's free Wi-Fi throughout.
