Hurricane seasons runs from early June through to the end of November, and now that it's September, we're really in the thick of it -- as evidenced by the recent hurricane anniversaries we have noted of years past. In 2014, 16 Pacific hurricanes formed -- and while Hurricane Marie was the only to be classified as Category 5, it was Hurricane Odile, a Category 4, that caused the most destruction and devastation.

Resulting in 15 deaths and $1.12 billion of damage, the storm -- which had been downgraded by that time to a Category 3 -- made landfall in Cabo San Lucas on September 15. As a result, the Los Cabos International Airport was closed for over three weeks and thousands of residents and tourists were displaced. Numerous hotels had to close until further notice for renovations.

Nonetheless, the resort town was able to get back on its feet shockingly quickly. Within nine days, 95 percent of customers regained power. In less than two months, 3,000 hotel rooms were open for booking and 70 percent of restaurants recommenced service. Here we bring you a look at six hotels that were able to reopen and welcome tourists once again.

The eye of Hurricane Odile passed directly over a surfing beach just a few miles from the Westin, meaning the resort endured much of the storm’s wrath.
