The all-inclusive kids’ camp includes separate programs and activities for ages 3 months to teens from 9 a.m to 9 p.m. Staff has been trained by the One World Foundation to relate to and welcome autistic children. Pre-teens stay busy with sailing, scavenger hunts, glass bottom boat rides, pizza making, and reggae jam sessions. Teenagers have a karaoke “bar” and talent shows. All parents have to do is tuck the kids in at night.
2. The Royal at Atlantis
It’s all about families at The Royal at Atlantis. This mega-resort offers everything from family yoga on the beach to a 97-acre waterscape with 250 species of marine life to high-intensity water rides. Atlantis Kids Adventures is arguably one of the best kids’ clubs on the planet. Kids ages 3 to 12 can choose between differently themed and dramatically decked out rooms, like Wizardology with circular reading nooks, a Victorian dollhouse, and a small play grocery store. Nighttime activities bring sleepless sleepovers and culinary adventures. You may have to extend your vacation to fit it all in.
3. Four Seasons Resort Nevis
The Kids For All Seasons program at Four Seasons Resort Nevis includes supervised recreational and educational activities for guests’ children in a colorful indoor kids’ club. And while some kids might appreciate the quiet atmosphere, most will want to get involved in the rowdier Camp Nevis. The day starts with breakfast, then is filled with activities like tennis, shell hunting, and excursions to nearby sites. The day ends with s’mores and drive-in movies. Expect your kids to be exhausted, and ready to spend another day at camp.
4. Beaches Negril Resort & Spa
Do your kids like Elmo? How about Xbox? Learning to be a DJ? Then they’re going to love the kids’ (and teens’) clubs at Beaches Negril Resort & Spa. Kids can bake with Cookie Monster or listen to stories read by Elmo. Younger kids spend the day with certified nannies in the nursery, while older kids can hang out in Cuda Kids’ Club. There’s an Xbox Lounge, Scratch DJ Academy, and Trenchtown for teens. Liquid is the alcohol-free nightclub, and it’s completely supervised to ensure that it stays that way.
5. Majestic Colonial Punta Cana
The Splash Kids Club is a pirate-themed water park for kids 4 four to 14 at Majestic Colonial Punta Cana. Along with water play equipment, pools, and slides, there’s an enclosed air-conditioned area with movies, Nintendo, and a mini-disco. Staff and lifeguards are on-hand to make sure kids stay safe and civilized. Parents are also welcome to sit on the cushioned sun loungers and supervise, but they’re more likely to head to the beach and let the kids play sword fighting games.
6. Carlisle Bay
Carlisle Bay does an excellent job at keeping kids of all ages safe and entertained. The kids’ club is for ages 6 months to 6 years, and older kids in this age range like treasure hunts and lizard hunting. The Crew Blue program is for kids ages 7 to 12. They get to build rafts and look for starfish at the beach. Crush teen’s club provides water sports, barbecue parties, and Wii consoles for kids ages 13 to 19, though we doubt many “kids” over the age of 18 would actually participate.
7. Half Moon
At Half Moon, kids get an entire village. Anancy Children’s Village, named after a character in a Jamaican folktale, is a colorful Caribbean village separated into stand alone houses painted the same colors of the Jamaican flag and surrounded by a white picket fence, that’s dedicated to making kids (ages 3 to 12) happy and keeping them safe. A shaded central playground provides an outdoor outlet and kids are led in group activities throughout the property, like horseback riding or dolphin encounters. Older kids can hang out in the Hype Zone. There’s a game room with billiards and foosball, an internet cafe, and karaoke nights. Kind of makes you wish were a kid again.
