Everyone knows Leonardo DiCaprio loves blonde models, but some may be surprised to discover how much he loves the earth. Well, his love for nature may actually surpass his love for arm candy, as the actor spent $1.75 million purchasing an island in Belize back in 2005, and just announced his plans, via The New York Times, to build a luxury eco-resort there. Along with glamorous over-the-water bungalows, "Blackadore Caye, a Restorative Island" -- slated to open to guests in 2018 -- will feature fish shelters, a manatee conservation, a nursery for indigenous plants, and (we're sure) a hefty nightly rate. But it's all in the name of doing something good for the environment, right?! As Leo says, "The main focus is to do something that will change the world." Well, you can't argue with that! This endeavor means DiCaprio joins our list of somewhat unlikely hotel owners.
