Some of the hottest parties for ringing in 2015 will be happening at hotels across "The Magic City," from sexy South Beach to quieter Miami Beach. These bashes are sure to impress with popular DJs spinning the latest hits, open bars with plenty of libations, and even gorgeous views of the fireworks over the bay at a couple. Mondrian South Beach
Debuting in 2009 and designed by Marcel Wanders, the off-the-beach Mondrian is as stylish as its party-centric South Beach siblings, the Delano and Shore Club, but it lacks the hyped-up clubbers. Nonetheless, its impeccable service, kitchen-equipped rooms, and notable after-parties at the Sunset Lounge still draw a fair share of well-heeled singles. You’ll probably find them at the hotel’s New Year’s Eve bash, that goes from 8:00 p.m. to 3:00 a.m. and features a DJ performance, champagne toast at midnight, and festive party favors. The Mondrian’s prime location on the bay will make for an excellent spot to watch the fireworks show. A $119 General Admission ticket will get you access to all this and the premium open bar from 8:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m.
W South Beach
The stunning 312-room W South Beach — located on the beach, on the northern outskirts of South Beach — blends cute comforts, intricate design (that spares no expense), and flawless service. Large, modern rooms; terraces angled to overlook the ocean; elegant landscaping around the pool; a lush Bliss spa — the W tops the Miami greats. The hotel will play host to two NYE parties — one at the WET pool and the other at WALL Lounge. WET’s festivities will begin at 9:00 p.m. and include a champagne toast, DJ-led music, and a premium open bar until midnight. A General Admission ticket costs $200 and the party lasts until 2:00 a.m. If that’s too early to end the night for you, the bash at WALL starts at 11:00 p.m. for VIP ticket holders and goes until 5:00 a.m. Dutch DJ Don Diablo will be headlining the party and tickets will set you back $450.
The Ritz-Carlton Key Biscayne
A tranquil 450-room island resort off the Miami mainland on Key Biscayne, the Ritz provides some of the traditional “Ritzy” benchmarks — impeccably kept grounds, huge pools, a brilliant spa, a world-class tennis center, a kids’ club, and elegant (if generic) interiors. If you want a luxe (and slightly more refined) New Year’s Eve, the Ritz has you covered, starting with dinner at Tuscan restaurant Cioppino; it will be serving a four-course meal from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., as well as a five-course meal from 9:00 p.m. to midnight. If a party is more your style, the hotel will also be hosting a Royal Gala for the whole family from 8:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m., which will include dinner, a champagne toast, and plenty of dancing. Reservations can be made by calling the hotel and tickets cost $295 for adults and $120 per child. The bar lounge RUMBAR will have its own celebration to ring in 2015 with live music from Cuban band Grupo Nostalgia, small bites, and a balloon drop at midnight. The festivities last until 1:00 a.m.
Miami Beach Resort & Spa
Stranded about 35 blocks from the South Beach party scene, this beautiful beachside resort draws an older clientele. Its great service, large (though dated) rooms, small spa, and big pool are all nice perks, and if you want an elegant New Year’s Eve, the Miami Beach Resort will be having a family-friendly bash in the beautiful Starlight Ballroom from 8:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. The party will have a premium open bar, four-course dinner, champagne toast, and music. Fireworks along the Miami skyline can be seen from the ballroom. Tickets range from $150 to $250, depending on age.
Fontainebleau Resort Miami Beach
After a $1 billion facelift in 2008, the Fontainebleau‘s 1,504 rooms, nine pools, phenomenal spa, and gorgeous design are hard to top. A popular celeb spot, the hotel will be hosting a NYE bash at its sexy nightclub LIV, as well as one poolside. The pool party will last from 9:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. and Australian sister duo NERVO will be performing, along with R&B artist The Weeknd. General Admission tickets cost $275 and will get you access to a premium open bar and champagne toast. The party at LIV will last much longer (till 7:00 a.m.) and Dutch DJ Nicky Romero is headlining. Tickets start at $300 for women and $500 for men.
The St. Regis Bal Harbour Resort
The 243-room St. Regis Bal Harbour is one of the most luxurious beachfront hotels in Miami. Highlights include lavish decor, spacious guestrooms with oceanfront balconies, two infinity pools, three on-site dining options, and a prime location across from Bal Harbour Shops. Reveillon305 is the all-inclusive NYE event at the hotel, taking place from 9:00 p.m. to 4:30 a.m. A premium bar and hors d’oeuvres by the pool followed by a buffet dinner are available for attendees. The Brazilian-inspired event will have a lineup of DJs, percussionists, and other live performances to help ring in the new year. Tickets cost $1,100 for women and $1,400 for men.
Hilton Miami Airport
This upscale 500-room Hilton has more amenities and style than many other airport hotels, and its slightly higher price point reflects these differences. Guest rooms and suites are simple but attractive, with heavy wood furniture, crisp white bedding, and balconies with lagoon or skyline views (in some). Fiesta Production will be having a party at the hotel in the International Ballroom from 9:00 p.m. to 3:00 a.m. to celebrate the conclusion of 2014. Ticket holders will have access to an open bar and a buffet dinner with fajita, pasta, and chicken stations. DJs will be performing and a champagne toast at midnight will also occur. General Admission tickets cost $135.
