Amnaya Resort Kuta

Although Amnaya Resort is located just a short walk from the buzz of downtown Kuta, inside the property the ambience stays consistently serene. The hotel's common areas feature comfy seating and stylish interiors with quality paintings and art installations on display throughout. The design elements are a collaboration of some of Bali's most well known artists, architects, and landscapes designers -- including the late Made Wijaya (an iconic Balinese/Australian landscape designer), Pintor Sirait (one of Indonesias most highly acclaimed metal sculptors), Martin Grounds (architect of the Four Seasons Jimbaran and St. Regis Bali), and Jason Childs (a popular ocean and surf photographer). 

Sukun Restaurant has gorgeously appointed interiors that feature a combination of traditional Balinese stylings and chic modern design elements. The restaurant is housed in a palatial semi open-air space with views of the pool and koi ponds. The interior features include raw concrete pillars, handmade copper lighting fixtures, delicate wire art installations, and painted ceiling cloud murals. The outdoor swimming pool is centered in the property and tends to be a hub of activity throughout the day. There are plenty of lounge chairs laid out around the pool for guests, and the intimate setting is lined with tropical greenery. Most of the guests are vacationing couples. 

The hotel is ideally located in the heart of downtown Kuta, a five-minute walk from popular attractions like Kuta Beach, Discovery Shopping Mall, and Waterbom Bali. Although the location is central, it's a bit removed (a 25-minute walk or 11-minute drive) from Kuta's main party district, Legian Street, where nightclubs like Sky Garden, Eikon, and Bounty are located. Seminyak's hip locales like Oberoi Street (or Eat Street) and Petitenget Beach take around 30 to 45 minutes to reach from the hotel. Seminyak offers upscale nightlife options, a great range of fine dining restaurants, and the island's most happening beach clubs like Potato Head, KU DE TA, and W Bali. Guests should budget around 10 to 15 minutes for airport transfers.

All room categories have a uniform theme and decor but vary in terms of space, view, and pool access. Only six rooms feature direct pool access and these must be booked well in advance due to the high demand. Rooms range from 485 square feet (45 square meters) to over 1080 square feet (100 square meters). The Amnaya Suite is the largest room available and the floor-plan includes a living room with comfy couches and a TV, plus a roomy balcony space. Each of the units features stylish contemporary interiors, open plan living spaces, glass frontages, and roomy balconies with outdoor seating and daybeds. The minimalist interiors have clean white walls, cream colored tiled floors, and solid wood trim and furniture. Decor elements include include black and white prints of ocean scenery, handmade copper lighting fixtures, colorful batik throw pillows, and intricately carved wooden reliefs. The decor also includes a sleek gray color scheme that features matching curtains, bed runners, and upholstered furniture. Rooms are outfitted with comfy beds, couches, balcony seating, and large wooden wardrobes. Standard room amenities include air-conditioning, flat-screen TVs with cable channels, free Wi-Fi, safes, stocked mini-fridges, coffee- and tea-making facilities, and two bottles of mineral water.

Bathrooms are elegantly appointed and feature floating wooden vanities with freestanding porcelain sinks and large mirrors, glass shower cubicles with rainfall shower heads, and deep soaking tubs (in all room types but Deluxe Rooms). Hairdryers, robes, and slippers are provided. One thing that some guests may find uncomfortable is that bathrooms are divided from the main living space by only a curtain. 

Amnaya Resort has a lovely selection of quality facilities. The swimming pool is centered in the property and features a lush tropical setting, plenty of lounge chairs, and poolside food and beverage service. Sukun Restaurant is one of the standout facilities and is popular with guests and locals. The restaurant serves authentic Indonesian cuisine, Western favorites, and has a full bar. Breakfast (additional charge) is served a la carte, with a range of Indonesian and Western dishes on offer. Free afternoon tea with traditional Balinese snacks and sweets is served in the restaurant. 

Bhava Spa has a stylish, vintage-inspired decor and features private couples treatment rooms with deep soaking tubs. It offers a full range of beauty and massage treatments and most of the spa products are homemade and natural. The fitness center is small but well equipped, and includes a treadmill, a cross-trainer, weight machines, and free weights. The lobby lounge has comfy couches to relax on and a desktop computer with internet access that guests can use free of charge.

The hotel hosts a range of free cultural activities and classes, like weekly yoga, Balinese dance lessons, and offering-making lessons. Extras include free Wi-Fi,  shuttle services to Kuta Beach and Discovery Mall, and free on-site parking.
