The 60-room Anantara Seminyak Resort & Spa, Bali, is a luxury boutique resort located right on picturesque Seminyak Beach. The all-suites accommodations have a clean-lined, Zen-inspired aesthetic that underscores the decadent amenities like iPod docks, espresso machines, and walk-in rainfall showers. The hotel has two pools -- one infinity-edge, overlooking the beach and the ocean; the other, surrounded by a lush, serene courtyard. Two acclaimed Thai-Indonesian restaurants include a rooftop that's one of Seminyak's coolest nightlife spots. Anantara Spa is one of the island's most decadent spas, offering a full range of beauty and wellness treatments. Free Wi-Fi, bicycles to borrow, and an area shopping shuttle are available, and both room service and the business center are available 24-hours a day. If there's a downside to this resort, it's that the rooftop can be buzzy late into the night, which can bother those trying to sleep on higher floors.
Scene
Sleek and modern boutique luxury resort with traditional Balinese-inspired style
The Anantara Seminyak Resort & Spa is one of Bali's most luxurious resorts, and one of the top places to stay in Seminyak. Located right on the beach --with panoramic ocean views from many rooms, both restaurants, and the infinity pool -- the hotel feels simultaneously modern and traditionally Balinese in its sleek, Zen-inspired style with clean lines and natural materials. The airy lobby sets the tone in its spare style and open-plan setup, with polished light wood floors, striped sofas, natural wood beams, and individual wooden check-in desks. Free newspapers are available in the lobby, and the open-air hallways throughout the grounds are decorated with greenery and water features.
MoonLite Kitchen and Bar, the rooftop restaurant and bar, is decorated in an industrial style, with a long wooden bar, black leather armchairs, concrete floors, and metal beams; its open-air deck area overlooks the ocean. The bar is one of Seminyak's hottest nightlife spots. Wild Orchid, the poolside restaurant, also features panoramic ocean views and is done up in a polished take on more traditional Balinese style, with dark wood-beamed ceilings, light wood floors, tan leather couches, brown leather armchairs, and a large open-air patio overlooking the pool. The rooftop Anantara Spa is similarly elegant and Asian-inflected, with tropical flowers, wicker chairs, and wooden floors and accents.
This hotel has two outdoor pools, one infinity-edged and overlooking the ocean, lined with a dark wooden deck and plenty of padded wicker lounge chairs; the smaller courtyard pool is flanked by suites' private terraces, tropical greenery, and a handful of umbrella-shaded loungers.
Location
On picturesque Seminyak Beach
The Anantara Seminyak Resort & Spa sits at the end of a quiet street, right on scenic Seminyak Beach; many restaurants and shops are within walking distance. Seminyak Square and Double Six Beach are each around a 10-minute drive from the hotel, while Legian Beach is 13 minutes away. Kuta Beach, the Discovery Shopping Mall, and Waterbom Park are about a 25-minute drive, as is Ngurah Rai International Airport.
Rooms
Spacious suites with Balinese-inspired modern style, private terraces with whirlpool tubs, and luxury inclusions
All rooms at the Anantara Seminyak Resort & Spa are large, luxurious suites decorated in an understated, modern Balinese style and outfitted with high-end amenities. Decor includes local wood furnishings, silk cushions, gray area rugs, and marble bed frames. Living areas are outfitted with black tables, wicker chairs, and floor-to-ceiling glass doors that let in lots of natural light and open onto private patios. All suites have a flat-screen TV, Bose DVD player, surround sound, iPod docks, espresso machines, minibars, and bathrobes and slippers. Each has a private balcony with padded lounge chairs and a deep whirlpool tub. Some have panoramic ocean views, while others open onto the courtyard pool. The bathrooms are large and decorated in neutral hues, with lighted mirrors, white square sinks, huge walk-in rainfall showers, separate terrazzo tubs, and signature toiletries. Bathrooms lack counter space, though. It's worth noting that rooms on higher floors, just below the rooftop restaurants and bar, can experience late night noise.
The Penthouse has it’s own private pool with panoramic ocean views, as well as a personal butler, fully-equipped kitchen with Smeg appliances, and free perks like breakfast, a daily spa treatment, and cocktails. The fridge and pantry are replenished daily for free, too.
Features
Two outdoor pools, two popular restaurants (one rooftop, one oceanfront), acclaimed spa, all the requisite luxury facilities
The resort has two outdoor pools, one overlooking the ocean and one hidden away in a serene garden courtyard. There are two restaurants: the rooftop MoonLite Kitchen and Bar serves modern Asian cuisine, cocktails, and wine; Wild Orchid offers Thai-Balinese dishes, as well as the breakfast included with some rates. Dining by design is also available, allowing guests to create customized, private dining experiences with different menus and locations. All of the eateries are highly acclaimed.
The Anantara Spa is also located on the rooftop and offers a full range of luxury beauty and wellness treatments. The modern fitness center is picturesque in and of itself, with hardwood floors and panoramic top-floor views. Personal trainers are available by request. Wind surfing, kite flying, cooking classes, and yoga classes on the beach are just a few of the on-site activities at this hotel, and area excursions (Mount Batur, scuba diving, river rafting) can be arranged through the concierge team. Free Wi-Fi, bicycles to borrow, and a shopping center shuttle are also available.
