EDEN Hotel Kuta Bali

Brown metal arches and tons of greenery cover the modern, minimalist, eco-friendly Eden Hotel Kuta Bali, creating a laid-back ambience throughout. A curvy free-form front desk and cut-outs in the ceiling suggest leaves, while greens, purples, and trees accentuate the effect and break up the neutral common areas. Much of the hotel is open-air, with a Lounge Deck and a Sunken Pool Bar, where drinks and snacks are served throughout the day. Given the number of kid-friendly amenities, the hotel draws large numbers of families, but couples, business, and solo travelers find their way here too.

The Eden Hotel Kuta Bali is in the southern area of Kuta, surrounded by souvenir shops and restaurants. Waterbom Park and Discovery Shopping Mall are a five-minute walk away, while Kuta Square is about a 15-minute walk, or a five-minute drive away.
Kuta Beach takes 15-minutes to reach on foot, or about five minutes by car, and Ngurah Rai International Airport is also a five-minute drive from the hotel. Slightly more laid-back Legian and Seminyak beaches are a 15- to 25-minute drive from the hotel.

The 277 efficiently designed rooms all have balconies with plants and flowers, and range from Eden Standard Rooms to Eden Suites with living rooms, some with direct pool access. Rooms are spacious, with Eden Standard Rooms starting at 30 square meters (323 square feet). The color palette includes greens and grays, with huge, back-lit tropical leaf artwork hung over the beds. Frosted leaf-print glass looks sharp against gray tile floors and gray walls, while furniture includes blonde wood veneer headboards, white shelving, wave-shaped settees, and green shag ottomans. All rooms are air-conditioned and include 32-inch flat-screen TVs with 60 satellite channels, minibars, coffee- and tea-making facilities, and free bottled water. Bathrooms have either gray stone-tile walk-in showers or shower/tub combos, and come with hairdryers, slippers, and toiletries.

Statue fountains flow into the blue-tile infinity pool, with a pool table at one end and the Sunken Pool Bar serving cocktails and snacks at the other. There's a kids' pool too, with an island of curving trees in its center. International cuisine is served at the Paradisus Restaurant, as is breakfast, which is not included with room rates. The lovely Lounge Deck serves tapas, wine, and cocktails. Room service is available all day and night. Hot-stone treatments, body scrubs, and massages are
offered at Elysium Spa, and there is a free OTA Kids Club and playground, game consoles, and daily activities. While there are several meeting rooms available, there's no actual business center -- or fitness center -- although faxing and photocopying services are available. Wi-Fi is free throughout the property and airport transfers can be arranged for a fee.
