Family-owned and operated, Febri's Hotel & Spa also prides itself on being one of the most family-friendly hotels in Bali (it's very popular with Australian tourists for that reason). This hotel also often hosts return visitors (many guests come back year after year for vacation).

The lobby of the hotel is open-air with high teakwood ceilings, a few chairs, and a small bar/vending area. The grounds are lovely and tropical with stone pathways, green trees, and the occasional statue. 

The spa is a draw for guests of the hotel as well as outside tourists. Because it is well run, professional, and offers a variety of services, it definitely becomes a big part of the culture at this hotel with many guests enjoying multiple treatments during their stays. Though Kuta is very busy, there is a tranquility within the confines of the resort that is surprising.

The overall vibe is warm. People seem to be happy and enjoying their stays, and the staff members are kind and aim to please. 

Febri's is located in the heart of Kuta, next to a 24-hour minimart and close to restaurants and shops as well as the Lippo Mall and a couple different beaches (Kuta and Tuban). It's also within 10 minutes of Discovery Shopping Mall and Waterbom Park (a water park with slides, rides, and a spa). The area immediately surrounding the hotel is busy, though traffic noise is not usually heard within the hotel, and as of spring 2015 there was a fair bit of construction in the immediate vicinity that can be heard in rooms and can block easy access to the beach. The hotel also offers free transfers to the Ngurah Rai International Airport, a 10-minute drive away.

Rooms have minimalistic decor consisting of a few pieces of wooden furniture, twin or double beds, plain pale-yellow walls (with possibly a mirror or a small piece of art), and marble floors. There isn't much to jazz rooms up other than the towel origami left on the beds, which changes from day to day. Amenities include flat-screen TVs, larger-than-average mini-fridges, coffee/tea fixings, and air-conditioning.Though there is free Wi-Fi available in public areas, it's abysmally slow. Guests have the option to pay for in-room high speed Internet, which is unfortunately also spotty and slow.

The entry-level Standard Rooms are small, and have either walk-in showers or shower/tub combos in the bathrooms. The largest rooms are the Family Rooms, which have multiple beds (usually a queen and two singles). Pillow-tops for the mattresses are available on request. Most rooms have balconies, though those on the bottom floor share a common terrace area. The quietest rooms are in the back on higher floors, away from the main pool.  

Though located in a populated area, this hotel feels safe thanks to 24-hour security. A breakfast buffet with lots of variety and a made-to-order omelette bar is free to all guests. The al fresco restaurant where breakfast is served is also open in the evenings, and frequently hosts live music performances. 

The full-service spa has a steam room, a sauna, and a whirlpool along with a nice menu of services including a variety of massages and reflexology. Kids are welcome in the main spa and there's also a separate Family Spa area. Guests not wishing to share their relaxation time with wee ones may find the enclosed or open-air Spa Cabins a little more private. There is also a small salon offering haircuts and styles. 

The hotel features two pools, both outdoors. The Ananta Pool is smaller and located at the back of the property and is usually quieter. The expansive Main Pool is surrounded by lounge chairs and serves as a centerpiece for the hotel. Oddly, there's a fountain at the end of the pool of two elephants that appear to be copulating -- parents should be prepared for some interesting -- or amusing -- conversations. There is also a children's pool as well as a playground with swings, slides, rings, and climbing ropes all in a colorful setting.
