The five-story hotel has a modest entrance tucked away on a quiet side street, and the huge, stylish lobby impresses. Skylights bring in an airy quality to the mostly marble interior, which is adorned with ruby-red and beige velvety chairs. The main hangout spot at the hotel is the rooftop, and there's often a live DJ by the pool, which seems to indicate a party atmosphere. But most of the clientele are budget-minded leisure travelers who are older than the hipper crowd at the nearby W Retreat & Spa Bali - Seminyak. Around the deck are few plumeria trees and umbrellas, but there isn't much shade. Worn cushioned lounge chairs and pool towels are a downside, though the rooftop area does get beautiful sunsets. The entire hotel, in fact, suffers from wear and maintenance issues, and investment is needed before it can live up to its potential. Travelers who score a great price might be satisfied given the reasonably convenient location, but it's usually possible to find nicer properties offering better value. Even the much more luxurious TS Suites Leisure Seminyak Bali is sometimes not much more expensive. 

This hotel is in a quiet location on a cul-de-sac, but is still within a 15-minute walk of the beach and multiple bars (including Potato Head Beach Club). The Pura Petitenget temple is about a 10-minute walk. It’s a five-minute ride via the hotel’s free shuttle to shopping and dining at Seminyak Square. Batu Belig Beach is a 10-minute drive. The Ngurah Rai International Airport is about 30 minutes by car, and transfers are available through the hotel. Valet parking is available to guests with cars for an extra fee.

Interior design is modern and masculine with midnight-black leather headboards and futon-style beds. Artwork above beds brings in a traditional Balinese vibe, but otherwise decorations are sleek and contemporary. Most rooms have floor-to-ceiling windows and some (but not all) also have outdoor space; the Deluxe Garden Room, for example, has a private garden. The Jacuzzi Suite has its own hot tub on a glass-enclosed terrace (though no furniture for lounging). 

Guests, especially older clientele, complain at times about the futon-style beds, which are on platforms. Traditional beds with boxsprings are available. All rooms have flat-screen TVs, free Wi-Fi, safes, and nice perks like bathrobes, tea-making facilities, and mini-fridges. Premier Rooms provide upgraded amenities such as microwaves, espresso machines, and lightly stocked minibars (but note that there is no tableware or glassware). Marble bathrooms are modern with rainfall showers and many also have soaking bathtubs with padded headrests. 

Though the decor and amenities seem fine on the surface, upon closer inspection, rooms are showing wear. Guests complain of stained and faded towels and linens, and water with a high mineral content that can give bathrooms a sulfury smell. Drainage is also slow and showers can sometimes flood. 

The long infinity-edge pool on the rooftop is a popular hangout spot. The deck gets plenty of sunshine and guests often take in the city and partial ocean views from loungers. There are only a few umbrellas, so shade is scarce. Rattan sofas and round turquoise daybeds are on the uncovered deck by the live DJ who starts his sets at sunset. On the other end of the rooftop is the BLU Restaurant and bar serving Asian and Western cuisine for breakfast (which is included in room rates), lunch, and dinner. The restaurant has trendy design: cushy turquoise sofas, rattan enclosures around tables, and a pool along the border. But since the dining room is mostly glass it gets hot during mid-afternoon. In the lobby is a modern bar with a piano for live music. 

The rooftop gym is small but clean, with wraparound windows, a treadmill, bicycle, elliptical machine, and pulley weight machine.The full-service Dedari Spa is spacious and has several Aquatonic pools with underwater jets. There are also spacious changing rooms and a huge sauna. For guests who have to do work there is one meeting room, free Wi-Fi throughout, computer terminals available 24/7, and printing services.
