Bottom Line

This four-pearl hotel has six floors of chic and spacious rooms, some of which have direct pool access. The 81-room property mainly attracts a young, trendy crowd who come here for the stylish surroundings and close proximity to the area’s nightlife. The location couldn’t be more central for Seminyak, and the hotel is right in the center of what’s known as Eat Street, celebrated for its huge selection of eateries, plus shops, bars, and clubs. The beach isn’t on the doorstep though -- it’s around a 15-minute walk or a five-minute cab ride. The hotel costs a little more than others in this category, but its contemporary rooms, large rooftop infinity pool, and trendy on-site bars and restaurant do have the wow factor.

Scene

A chic, glamorous boutique hotel attracting a young and trendy crowd

Built in 2012, the hotel has a modern style, starting with a giant blue metal facade that covers the building. The cutting-edge design and glamorous vibe continues throughout the property, and there’s a white and ice-blue color scheme throughout the hotel, only interrupted in the Single Malt lounge bar, which has a more relaxed, coffee shop feel to it. The young party crowd that comes here tends to start the day with a brunch at the hotel’s restaurant, which overlooks the bustling street below. Much of the hotel is open-air, and while the street noise is apparent in the restaurant, up on the roof terrace is fairly quiet with a relaxed vibe.

Location

A bustling spot with nearby bars and clubs to sample

Located right in the heart of Seminyak, the hotel is set among countless restaurants, bars, nightclubs, and shops. It’s a good choice for those wanting to sample the area’s nightlife, but not ideal for anyone wanting a peaceful retreat. It’s just a five-minute walk to Seminyak Square, and a 15-minute walk or five-minute drive to the beach. The trendy Ku De Ta restaurant and bar is a 10-minute walk away, and the Potato Head Beach Club is a 20-minute walk or five-minute taxi ride. For a break from the noise and activity, travelers can head to the Taksu Art Gallery, which is a 15-minute walk. Ngurah Rai International Airport is 25 minutes away by car.

Rooms

Chic, contemporary air-conditioned rooms, some with direct pool access

Guest rooms have a fresh and modern feel, with an ice-blue and white color scheme and contemporary wooden furniture. Despite the noisy location, the rooms are well soundproofed and quiet. All have air-conditioning, flat-screen TVs with satellite channels, safes, coffeemakers, and minibars with free soft drinks. Bathrooms are spacious and stylish, with huge mirrors, floor-to-ceiling windows, and walk-in showers with large rainfall showerheads.

There are four categories of rooms available. The most basic is the Deluxe Room, from which guests can upgrade to a Deluxe Pool Room, complete with a spa tub. These look out onto a huge water cascade and have direct access to a special pool that's exclusively reserved for those staying in these rooms. Club Rooms are on the seventh floor and pack in plenty of extras, including free airport transfers, daily laundry, sunset cocktails, and tapas every night. They also have balconies with panoramic views of Seminyak and direct access to the rooftop pool. Those wanting extra space can splash out on a Club Suite, which has all the privileges of the Club Rooms but is twice the size.

Features

No spa on-site but some trendy places to eat and drink

The hotel has some good options for eating and drinking on-site. The Meja Restaurant ("meja" means table in Indonesian), serves Balinese and European dishes all day and evening. Diners can choose to eat inside or on the terrace, and food from the restaurant can be delivered to the Rooftop Bar and Terrace, which is a stylish space exclusively for guests staying at the hotel. The terrace features chic daybeds, a good cocktail menu, chill-out music, and views over the pool and the ocean. The hotel's other bar -- Single Malt -- is a more casual space with comfortable armchairs and a wide selection of rum and whisky. Room service is available 24-hours a day too.

There's no spa on-site, but guests can get a free shuttle to another hotel's spa that's five minutes away. There is, however, a small fitness center with two treadmills, a cross-trainer, and free weights. The library is a peaceful room with two computers where guests can access the Internet free of charge or browse a selection of books and magazines.

The hotel has two pools, although the smaller of the two is exclusive to those staying in the Pool Rooms. The larger one is a rooftop infinity pool, although the large awning over the top means that there's too much shade for some guests' liking. Free Wi-Fi and parking are provided, and there’s a meeting room available for rent.
