Bottom Line

This simple budget hotel is a quiet and popular pick that's in the heart of Sanur and only a five-minute walk from the beach. It's one of the smaller properties in town, with just 18 simple rooms that include air-conditioning, flat-screen TVs, and free Wi-Fi. There are atwo multi-bedroom options as well. Features are few, and the hotel is mostly used as a relatively budget-friendly place to recharge while visiting the nearby beach or exploring the town. There's a pleasant pool, and a simple bar -- breakfast packages can be booked and are served at a restaurant nearby. For a hotel with a livelier vibe and more features, you could consider the similarly priced Taksu Sanur, though it's in the southern part of town and farther from the beach.

Scene

Busy little budget property with a quiet vibe and central location

This small hotel is tucked just off of the main road and smack in the center of Sanur. However, despite that proximity -- and a near constant stream of arriving and departing guests -- the vibe here is cool, calm, and collected. In fact, while Sanur is hardly a rowdy place in general, the hotel is especially quiet, which makes it a great find for such a prime location. Opened in 2015, things here are mostly modern -- with just a few Balinese touches -- and you're likely to spot people departing on scooters, having a beer in the casual upstairs bar, or lounging around the pool. Most guests were adult couples and groups of friends during our 2017 visit, though there are a two multi-bedroom units that could work for families. Given the lack of bells and whistles, the property is best used as a reasonably fresh home base from which to explore Southern Bali and Sanur.

Location

Smack in the center of Sanur, a five-minute walk from the beach

The setting is certainly this hotel's biggest strength, as the de facto center of town is essentially next door: Hardy's Department Store. That puts nearly every major bar, restaurant, shop, and cafe found in Sanur within an easy 10-minute walk of the property. Even better? The beach only takes five minutes to reach on foot. There are some authentic warungs around the hotel for local food, though you'd be better served (and save some money) by heading to the Sindhu Night Market, at the north end of town. It's a 20-minute walk or five-minute cab ride away. Budget about 10 minutes to reach the ferries and fast boats to Nusa Lembongan by car. Drives to the airport can take 20 to 30 minutes though traffic can be unpredictable in this part of Bali. Kuta and Seminyak are around 30 to 45 minutes away by car, depending on traffic.

Rooms

Simple and with a touch of local style, plus air-conditioning, flat-screen TVs, and free Wi-Fi

The rooms here are mostly modern, but utterly simple, and have a touch of local style in bedding accents and bright wall art. Standard Rooms lack any additional seating beyond the beds and a vanity stool, while multi-bedroom units do have extra seating and king beds. Standard features include flat-screen TVs, minibars, air-conditioning, safes, and free Wi-Fi. Rooms also have furnished balconies or terraces -- ground-floor units open directly to the pool, while the multi-room units are standalone options. All rooms stay quiet, as the hotel is located back away from Sanur's main road. Bathrooms are fresh, with white and gray tiling plus rainfall showers and sleek fixtures. Toiletries and towels are provided.

Features

Limited extras include a small pool and casual, cozy upstairs bar

There isn't much to this small property, but what's on offer makes time before and after the beach a bit more comfortable and relaxing. The small pool sits in the center of the property, tucked away from the road and flanked by just a bit of poolside seating. Some rooms and the standalone units open directly to the pool area. Above the reception area, a cozy bar has colorful couches clustered together -- drinks are available, but there's no restaurant on-site. The hotel offers breakfast packages with nearby Made's Restaurant, but the meal isn't included in all room rates. Wi-Fi is free throughout the hotel.
