Scene

Contemporary, family-friendly property with Balinese touches

This three-and-a-half-pearl property offers a decent base for those that don't mind not being directly along the beach. The resort’s whitewashed entrance features a portico with huge vases at each column, and cascading greenery lining most of the facade. A spacious granite-floor lobby has appealing hand-carved wooden and rattan seating, buddha sculptures, and modern hanging light fixtures. This area bleeds into the pool bar and adjacent four-tier, lagoon-style swimming pool, which is flanked by a sandy area with loungers. The property's happy hours, kids' club, and spa attract a range of visitors, including couples, families, and groups of friends.

Location

Surrounded by restaurants, bars, and shops, and five-minute walk to the beach

The hotel is located in the heart of Seminyak, a trendy area full of restaurants, cafes, bars, and shops. While the hotel is set just a five-minute stroll from Seminyak beach, it takes around 25 minutes to walk to the famous Double Six Beach. The Ngurah Rai International Airport is a 25-minute ride away, while Kuta’s vibrant nightlife and the Bali Blast Monument can be reached in 10 minutes by car. Both Waterbom Park and Discovery Shopping Mall are a 15-minute drive away. The hotel offers free parking.

Rooms

Contemporary rooms with flat-screen TVs, minibars, and attractive outdoor spaces

The contemporary rooms feature purposefully weathered wood furniture, tile or parquet flooring, white walls, and either bright-red or blue-and-white-patterned throw pillows. Triptych artwork above the beds adds a pleasant touch. All rooms feature patios or balconies with red-cushioned loungers, or chairs and tables, but the ground-floor patios aren't very private and are next to a common walkway. All rooms have flat-screen TVs with international channels and DVD players, work desks, minibars, tea- and coffee-making facilities, free Wi-Fi, and in-room safes. A handful of interconnecting rooms are available.

Modern bathrooms are outfitted in marble, with large walk-in glass showers, free toiletries, and bottles of water. The first and second floor Superior Rooms are 312 square feet (29 square meters), while the Deluxe Rooms are 344 square feet (32 square meters) and on the ground floor. Also on the ground floor, the 689-square-foot (64-square-meter) Junior Suites overlook the resort’s sandy area and pool. These also come with surround sound systems, bathtubs, and semi-open rainfall showers. Note that the rooms close to the pool and bar area can experience noise.

Features

Pool with a swim-up bar and sandy area, plus two restaurants and free breakfast

The highlight of the resort is the tiered swimming pool, complete with a sandy beach area housing red-and-white padded loungers under white umbrellas. The swim-up Sunken Pool Bar is the resort’s gathering spot and hosts nightly bingo sessions. Aside from happy hour, past guests have complained of pricey food and drinks there, plus no outside food or drink is allowed by the pool. The resort’s street-side d’Base Restaurant & Fun Bar serves Pan-Asian cuisine, while the Beach Restaurant, which overlooks the pool, serves a buffet breakfast with cooked-to-order eggs.

A spa offers a selection of wellness treatments using quality botanical products. There is also a well-equipped and spacious fitness center, a 30-seat cinema with a film library, a basic kids' club, and a tennis court. The Departure Lounge, which features lockers, showers, and refreshments, is a heaven-sent for guests who are waiting for late flights. Computers are available for guest use and Wi-Fi is free throughout.
