Bottom Line

The luxury, 155-room TS Suites Leisure Seminyak Bali is a trendy and lively property near the beach and nightlife, with a huge array of on-site features. For starters, it offers a 24-hour rooftop pool and bar, 12 restaurants, a modern fitness center, and a nightclub. The trendy guest rooms have deep soaking tubs and include free minibar items; rooftop villas are also available. The party atmosphere can be disrupting in rooms, which tend to lack soundproofing. The Anantara Seminyak Resort & Spa, Bali offers a quieter -- albeit pricier -- beachfront vacation.

Scene

Luxury hotel with trendy designs and a lively party atmosphere

With its trendy decor and lively atmosphere, the TS Suites Leisure Seminyak Bali fits in with the nearby happening nightlife scene. The five-story property is also close to the beach, and draws everyone from honeymooners to families with kids. Its enormous lobby is lit by skylights and filled with hip decor, including blue and acid yellow couches, and patterned armchairs in clean-lined shapes. Walls combine bleached wood with stacked stone and white tree designs, while the chevron floors are dotted with oversized lamps and a variety of small tables made of wood, wire, or glass. Three glossy elevators lead to the guest rooms, and hallways on the higher floors are glass-roofed and lined with lush, tropical shrubbery. Colorful couches on the outdoor courtyard look upon small rock pools and giant waterfall features -- a modern, dramatic aesthetic that sets it apart from Seminyak's more traditional properties. Up on the roof, the 24-hour, checkered-tile infinity pool sits beside a tented lounge area with lime-green couches and a bar topped with several hookahs, all overlooking the city.

Location

On a lively street in Seminyak

The TS Suites Leisure Seminyak Bali is located in between Legian and Seminyak on a busy street with lots of shops, restaurants, bars, and markets. The hotel's Jenja nightclub, restaurants, and shops are also available in the on-site courtyard. Double Six Beach and Legian Beach are within a 15- to 20-minute walk -- or accessible via free hotel shuttle. Guests will find much to see and do within a 15- to 20-minute drive, including Discovery Shopping Mall, Seminyak Square, the Potato Head Beach Club, lively Legian Street, and the elaborate Petitenget Temple on Petitenget Beach. The Ngurah Rai International Airport is around 20 minutes away by car.

Rooms

Trendy rooms, suites, and villas with deep soaking tubs; some with pools or kitchenettes

Trendy decor in natural materials are used throughout the guest rooms, from standard rooms to suites and villas. The heavy teak furniture and ultra-ornamental carvings used in other resorts is gone. In its place is an airy, contemporary design of minimalist wood shelving, touches of bleached wood, rattan furnishings, and tufted gray benches. Vibrant pops of color jazz up each room -- from lime-green couches to bright-yellow abstract paintings to turquoise pillows. Standard features include air-conditioning, flat-screen TVs, safes, coffee/tea facilities, free minibars, bathrobes, and slippers. In the bathrooms, deep soaking tubs are the focal point, and separate showers, vessel sinks, stone floors, and rainfall showerheads add to the luxury -- although the glass walls around the toilet offer little privacy. Some rooms have narrow balconies, while some villas have chic terraces with private pools. Rooftop villas are available, as are villas with kitchenettes

Features

On-site dining and cocktails, an infinity pool, a sunny fitness center, a courtyard mall, and kids’ club

The TSea Leisure Club offers an all-day breakfast buffet in a trendy setting with two pool tables; lunch and dinner are also served. In the courtyard there are 12 more restaurants serving international fare, along with boutiques, coffee shops, a spa, and the Jenja nightclub (with free priority access for guests). Performances and fashion shows are also held in the courtyard.

Up on the roof, the rectangular infinity pool is lined with blue checkered tiles and bordered with tiered sky-blue loungers and a shaded patio that houses a bar. Aside from swimming, guests can also exercise in the sunny fitness center, outfitted with cardio machines, free weights, balance balls, water bottles, and a flat-screen TV. A small, colorful kids' room provides a play area and a flat-screen TV. The stylishly furnished library has board games, magazines, books, five PC computers, and two printers.
