Situated a 10-minute drive inland from Double Six Beach, Villa Diana is a small, mid-range hotel with 16 rooms and suites and three villas. All feature clean, simple decor and come with private terraces or balconies, while the villas add private plunge pools. At the heart of the property sits a lovely lagoon pool surrounded by plush lounge chairs and tables. Additional facilities include a small outsourced spa and a simple restaurant with a buffet breakfast and room service, along with free Wi-Fi and plenty of free on-site parking. While the hotel's location away from the beach might put some guests off, there is a free shuttle that runs several times a day. Those who prefer easy access to the sand may want to consider a beachfront option such as the Puri Raja instead.
Scene
Quiet, low-key property with dark semi-open lobby
Villa Diana Bali is a generally quiet, mid-range property that attracts couples looking for good value and who don't mind being away from the beach. It's set on a main road that gets some traffic but doesn't feel too busy, and a small rickshaw sits outside as decoration. The lobby is semi-open and features high ceilings with a huge centerpiece chime installation made from delicate shells that clink together musically when even just a little wind passes through the space. A small seating area with cushioned wicker sofas sits off to one side and there's a rack of newspapers and books for guests, but neither this area, nor the adjacent restaurant, is particularly inviting, with most guests congregating by the central courtyard pool, where there's a good mix of plush lounge chairs and tables with chairs.
Location
On a main thoroughfare inland from Legian and Double Six Beaches, within easy driving distance of central Kuta
Villa Diana is located in Kuta, about a 10-minute drive from the beach (Legian and Double Six Beaches are the closest options and free shuttles to Double Six run throughout the day). It sits on a semi-busy thoroughfare that runs north to south with a small creek separating the road into two (meaning you have to walk up to a bridge to cross the street). There are a few other hotels and casual restaurants in the area, but it's not the best for shopping, nightlife, or even just walking around. However, Kuta town is within a 10-minute taxi ride or motorbike drive away (there's also a motorbike rental shop across the street). The airport is around 20 minutes away, without traffic.
Rooms
Rooms and villas with simple but elegant decor and terraces or balconies, plus lovely marble bathrooms
Villa Diana offers a mix of rooms and suites along with a few villas. Rooms are spread across two stories, with entry-level Standard Rooms on the upper floors and larger Deluxe and Suite Rooms spread across both levels. All have balconies or terraces with plush daybed-style loungers and feature a similar decor aesthetic, consisting of a mix of white walls and polished white floors, dark wooden furniture, and minimal pops of color in accent cushions and abstract wall art. All come with free Wi-Fi, split air-conditioning units, tiny safes (that are too small for laptops), loaner umbrellas, and minibars, but they lack coffee- and tea-making facilities. Standard Rooms feature tube TVs, while higher categories come with flat-screen TV units; all are equipped with cable. Bathrooms are across categories feature cream-tinted marble floors and walls and big rainfall showerheads, while Deluxe categories add soaking tubs. Suite bathrooms are gargantuan, housing big tubs and larger shower areas, with bamboo screen dividers to create a sense of division.
The villas have a similar look to the rooms and can be booked either as two-bedroom units (with one of the rooms locked off) or as three-bedrooms. All three villas have two stories, with rooms on both floors, a beautiful outdoor private plunge pool with high walls for added privacy, and lots of greenery. A covered outdoor lounge area and a beautiful indoor/outdoor bathroom are also provided.

A small restaurant between the pool and the lobby serves a free buffet-style breakfast every morning, and while the options are varied, consisting of eggs, meats, and breads, the food quality gets mixed reviews from guests.
