Additionally, all villas have outdoor spaces with small private pools and garden areas. Some guests have mentioned, however, that the outdoor bathrooms lack privacy. Spa Venus is a major plus and The Oasis Restaurant and Bar is generally well received, though prices are high. Scene

A secluded and relaxed upscale hotel surrounded by beautiful gardens

A peaceful and relaxed atmosphere emanates through Villa Kubu, which is shrouded in plants and trees. Well-maintained garden areas include ponds with lotus flowers, stone statues, and koi. The updated and cozy lobby has neutral tile work as well as a black chandelier. Wood chairs and desks along with a cozy tan couch provide seating and the high ceiling makes the space feel large. Much of the seating at the Oasis Restaurant and Bar is outside, resplendent with greenery and fans. White woven chairs and wood floors also decorate the outdoor area. A contemporary decor with Balinese touches covers Spa Venus. Wood towel racks, large soaking tubs, and showers surrounded by bamboo adorn the space, and the spa’s serene, neutral-toned lobby has padded wood chairs for extra comfort.

Location

Residential area with attractions, restaurants, and beaches nearby

Villa Kubu is in a centrally located residential area with a supermarket, shops, and restaurants within walking distance. Seminyak Beach and Square is a short drive west while Legian Beach and Kuta Galeria are less than 15 minutes south. Kuta Beach, Discovery Shopping Mall, and Waterbom Bali park are each less than a 20-minute drive from the hotel, all south as well, while Ngurah Rai International Airport is a 25-minute drive south.

Rooms

Modern, large, and comfortable with plenty of luxurious extras

Each of the large, contemporary villas here feels private and includes lots of open-air space in the indoor/outdoor design. One-, two-, and three-bedroom options are available, in addition to connecting villas. Tan tile floors run throughout rooms while wood furniture with comfortable tan padding provides extra seating in the living and dining areas. Teakwood pillars add authenticity to the common areas, as do handcrafted Jenggala pieces and colorful Balinese artwork. Floor-to-ceiling glass and wood doors allow natural light in and lead out to gorgeous private pool and garden areas. Padded lounge chairs offer seating while some outdoor areas have thatched balé pavilions. Several villas also have koi ponds, hot tubs, and stone accents.

Updated, air-conditioned bedrooms are bathed in neutral hues with large doorways and flowing drapes. Flat-screen TVs hang over bedroom doors or sit on furniture. Robes and slippers hang in wood closets and wireless sound systems (Bose and JBL) feature preloaded iPods. All villas have kitchenettes with coffeemakers, sinks, toasters, and minibars. Some also have granite countertops, stoves/ovens, and full-sized refrigerators, but no microwaves are available.

Big, contemporary bathrooms are open to the outside and have separate soaking tubs and outdoor showers with rainfall showerheads surrounded by plants. Lots of wood or stone counter space is available with updated sinks and tile work. Villa Kubu toiletries are provided as well. Some guests have mentioned that the outdoor bathrooms lack privacy.
