Occupying the ground and first floors of a building that's about 60 or 70 years old, this bed-and-breakfast has a homey vibe and lots of charm. Even so, it feels a bit more like a hostel, with its communal features and optional dorm rooms. Interiors are bright and fresh, and shared areas such as the kitchen and dining area encourage guests to interact with each other. Decor is a funky blend of antique, vintage, and modern pieces. It's quieter than many similar properties, and house rules state that alcohol is not allowed on the premises. With a variety of room options, it works well for couples, families, groups, or individuals. It's most appealing to younger guests on a budget who like the trendy neighborhood and easy access to public transportation. 

This bed-and-breakfast is located in trendy Poble Sec, a 10-minute walk from the Magic Fountains of Montjuic and Parallel Avenue. Several restaurants, bars, and shops are in the immediate area, and the Poble Sec Metro station is within a few minutes' walk. The ride to the city center takes about 10 minutes. Guests can walk to the city center and Plaza Catalunya in 30 to 40 minutes, and from there it's easy to reach Las Ramblas. The port area and southern end of Las Ramblas are about a 25-minute walk. Expect a 20-minute drive to Barcelona-El Prat Airport, or 35 minutes by public transportation. 

Rooms are modern, fresh, and bright, with light hardwood floors, softly colored walls with richer accent walls, and cheerful linens on beds. Distressed wooden furniture adds some character, but decor is otherwise minimal. Rooms lack closets, so hooks on the wall are used for hanging clothes. Bed configurations include doubles, triples, and quadruples. Female-only and male-only rooms can accommodate four guests each. Rooms are air-conditioned and have free Wi-Fi, but there are no TVs. Some rooms have en-suite bathrooms, while others share facilities. Private bathrooms are modern and bright, with above-counter sinks, colorful tile, and walk-in showers. Toiletries are provided in pump containers, and hairdryers are supplied as well. The shared bathrooms have double or single above-counter sinks, and toilets and showers are in separate cubicles. A triple room with three beds for families has a large picture window with views out to the street, but it shares a bathroom. 

This is a simple property and services are limited. A continental breakfast buffet is available daily for a small fee. Selections include breads, meats, cheese, eggs, and juice, as well as the traditional Catalan pan con tomate. Breakfast is served in the communal dining room by reception. A shared kitchen has all of the requisite equipment, including two sinks, a cook top, microwave, refrigerator, dishwasher, toasters, tea- and coffeemakers, plus dishes, utensils, and cookware. The communal dining room features a couple of tables with benches and chairs, plus two sofas. It's a bright, sunny space with a wood floor and large windows. Wi-Fi is free throughout the property.
