Best Value Hotels in Bodrum

Bodrum City’s major sites include the charming Old Town, the medieval Bodrum Castle, and the Mausoleum at Halicarnassus, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. The surrounding landscape is dotted with charming seaside villages, like Torba, and beach resort towns, like Gumbet, which has developed a regional reputation for its water sports and vibrant nightlife. Whether you want to stay in the city center or along the coast of the Bodrum Peninsula, these five hotels deliver solid value.

1

Kervansaray Resort

Set on a hillside overlooking the sea, the Kervansaray Resort is an upscale all-inclusive property about a five-minute drive from the seaside village of Torba. This family-friendly resort offers the usual lineup of features and entertainment: pools, a beach, a spa, fitness facilities, and plenty of activities. Kids are catered to with two kids' pools, indoor and outdoor play areas, and a kids' club. Dining options include a main buffet restaurant and four a la carte options -- plus eight bars -- but there have been complaints about food quality and lack of variety. Interiors are average, with fairly bland decor, but guest rooms are pleasant enough and come equipped with flat-screen TVs, minibars, and in most cases, furnished balconies. Overall, the resort offers a good value -- prices are on the more affordable end for this category -- and draws many families with kids seeking a sunny beach vacation.

2

Diamond of Bodrum

The Diamond of Bodrum is a mid-range, all-inclusive hotel set on a hillside overlooking the picturesque Bodrum Bay. It's practically in the city center, so there's plenty within a short walk, including the city's renowned nightlife strip. Superb views are the hotel's main drawcard, and around half of its 201 rooms open to balconies facing the sea. However, in-room amenities are lacking, furnishings such as bedspreads and tube-style TVs are dated, and some room views are non-existent. Features include three bars, an a la carte restaurant, and an outdoor pool, plus access to a small private beach and lots of kids' activities.

3

Parkim Ayaz Hotel

Bodrum City, Bodrum, Turkish Aegean Coast, Turkey

The mid-range Parkim Ayaz Hotel is centrally located in Gumbet, close to plenty of nightlife and right on the beach. It's a solid combination of unpretentious atmosphere (and prices) with extensive facilities that include three pools, a climbing wall, and a waterslide. All-inclusive rates are attractive, especially given the numerous dining options that go beyond most standard, repetitive buffets. The 237 casual rooms feature inoffensive, if bland, decor plus tiny private balconies or patios that open to the pool or gardens. The rooms and common spaces are a bit dated, but they're clean and pleasant enough.

4

Izer Hotel & Beach Club

Torba, Bodrum, Turkish Aegean Coast, Turkey

Club Izer Beach is a mid-range, family-friendly hotel set in the quiet and picturesque village of Torba overlooking a pretty sweeping bay. The 192 rooms are bright and contemporary, albeit a bit bland, outfitted with mini-fridges and balconies -- some with sea views. Features include direct access to the hotel's private beach and jetty, three outdoor pools, as well as plenty for children including a kids' club and waterslides. Although offering just two restaurants, food is a highlight and some of the best all-inclusive dining in the region -- which is useful as there's not much else around.

5

Bodrum Beach Resort

Gumbet, Bodrum, Turkish Aegean Coast, Turkey

Bodrum Beach Resort is a mid-range, all-inclusive resort with a convenient location, a few minutes' walk from the sandy beach on Gumbet Bay and about a 10-minute walk from the nightlife on hopping bar street. Those looking to stay put for their entire vacation may be disappointed, as this is a small resort with hit or miss food; many guests report dining off-site for some meals, despite the all-inclusive rates. There are three swimming pools, including one with water slides, a kids' club (not always open or staffed), and short evening shows. The 220 rooms have a few modern elements and some even offer sea-view balconies, but are basic overall and mold in the bathroom can be an issue. The Turkish bath and massage center are high points. This is one of Gumbet's cheaper all-inclusive options, and guests should adjust expectations accordingly.

6

Hotel Centro Bodrum

Bodrum City, Bodrum, Turkish Aegean Coast, Turkey

The 40-room Hotel Centro Bodrum is a two-and-a-half-pearl property within walking distance of the center of Bodrum, yet far enough away that the setting is quiet and serene. This family-run hotel is cozy and clean, featuring a pretty outdoor pool and adjacent bar, as well as a restaurant that specializes in tasty Mexican food. Small guest rooms are simply furnished, and though some are fairly modern, others are dated and showing wear. Bathrooms with shower stalls are also tight on space and air-conditioning incurs a fee. Overall, it has affordable rates and a good location for exploring area sights.

7

Green House Apart Hotel

Gumbet, Bodrum, Turkish Aegean Coast, Turkey

The budget-oriented Green House Apart Hotel, even though it's not on the beach, is one of the most popular in Gumbet for its affordable rates and relaxed atmosphere. It has two outdoor pools, both with adjacent kiddy pools, and plenty of loungers packed onto its stone sundecks. It's in walking distance to the beach and the town's nightlife scene, and hosts its own regular entertainment (including karaoke) in an open-air bar. Its 36 rooms are dated, and are more akin to what would be found in a country house than a hotel in the middle of a beach resort -- some units are split-level with kitchenettes, and all have balconies. While Wi-Fi is free, it's available only in the public areas, and air-conditioning comes with a fee.

8

Summer Garden Apart Hotel

Bitez, Bodrum, Turkish Aegean Coast, Turkey

The 127-room Summer Garden Apart Hotel is a lower-middle-range property just a couple minutes' walk from a beach, offering both Standard Rooms and apartments with bare-bones kitchenettes. The hotel is built around two outdoor pools and a tiny kids' pool with a waterslide, but there are no organized activities; this is not a resort where guests are tempted to hang around all day. Though there are also a restaurant, pool bar, and cafe surrounded by pretty gardens for those that do. Additionally, the small spa and salon offers massages and beauty services, plus a sauna and steam room. Rooms are small and extremely plain, equipped with narrow balconies and tiny bathrooms, and air-conditioning incurs a fee (and many guests complain that it's inefficient).

9

Hotel Gulec

Bodrum City, Bodrum, Turkish Aegean Coast, Turkey

The 18-room Hotel Gulec is a no-frills value property located in Bodrum's center that attracts budget travelers seeking affordable rates and close proximity to restaurants, shops, and tourist sites. Amenities are limited in this small hotel, but there is a lovely garden courtyard where a free breakfast is served. Guest rooms are spartan -- they're little more than bare spaces with beds and bathrooms, lacking TVs, mini-fridges, or coffeemakers -- but they're well-maintained and air-conditioned.
