The 17-room Brussels Welcome Hotel is a unique, family-run property with lots of character in a prime location in the heart of historic Brussels. Each room is themed and named after a country -- decor is equally quirky and unforgettable. Some guests have complained that rooms and beds are on the small side, but bathrooms are inviting and contemporary and some rooms have balconies. There are modern conveniences such as laundry, free Wi-Fi, and secured underground parking, plus a lovely wood-paneled breakfast room.

The large, upscale Steigenberger Grandhotel oozes luxury and elegance. The 267 rooms and suites are spacious, tastefully decorated, and comfortable. Located on the trendy Avenue Louise, there are a range of restaurants and shops nearby and the business district is close by, too. With two restaurants, two bars, a fitness room, and a business center, the Steigenberger Grandhotel has plenty to offer guests, but the high fees for breakfast, and to use the pool and spa might put some people off of staying here.
