Scene

Artsy hotel with bold paintings by Hungarian artists

In a beautiful stone building with wood-framed windows on a narrow street in historical downtown, the inside of Bohem Art Hotel is much more edgy than its classic exterior may suggest. The funky lobby is stylish with wood floors, black chairs, and glossy red tables. Vibrant, modern paintings ranging from abstract pieces to photorealism by Hungarian artists can be found throughout the hotel and inside the guest rooms. A remaining classic wooden staircase leads down to the chic breakfast room with sleek white tables and trendy tree-covered wallpaper. There’s a small, swanky lounge bar with purple velvet chairs and edgy purple and red wallpaper where guests can enjoy a drink.

Location

In historical downtown a block from the Danube River and Vaci Street

The hotel is in a convenient location in downtown with plenty of restaurants nearby. It’s a block from the Danube River and Vaci Street, a famous pedestrian street full of shops and cafés. Castle Hill in the medieval part of the city can be reached in less than 25 minutes on public transportation (or a 10-minute drive), and St. Stephen's Basilica is less than a 10-minute drive (or about 15 minutes by public transport). Budapest Airport is less than a 30-minute drive, or an hour ride via public transportation. The Fővám tér metro station and number two tram line are within a few minutes' walk of the hotel.

Rooms

Unique art, edgy accessories, and modern furnishings

Standard Rooms are modern and stylish with beautiful wood parquet floors, gray accent walls, and red and gray bedding. Sleek, white furniture and work-table lamps give the space a modern edge. The artwork, often colorful and always unique to each room, gives every accommodation a different feel. Rooms have minibars, wall-mounted flat-screen TVs, free Wi-Fi, and self-controlled air-conditioning that shuts off automatically when a window opens. A suite with a lofted sleeping area is available, and Bohem Hip Suites come with a sofa or have space for an extra bed. Bathrooms are modern and chic, with wood parquet or black tile floors, glossy white sinks, and either glass-walled stall showers or shower/tub combos.

Features

Breakfast buffet with champagne, happy hour with free snacks, and swanky lounge

The hotel serves a varied and rich breakfast buffet (think: sausage wrapped in bacon) that includes champagne and freshly squeezed orange juice. A happy hour offers free coffee, tea, and snacks in the small, swanky lounge bar. The hotel has an internet corner with three computers and a water dispenser. The boldly decorated business center displays unique artwork, and has bright red chairs around a modern white table, as well as audio-visual equipment for meetings. Airport transfers are available, and parking is offered for a fee.
