Atrium Fashion Hotel

Budapest, Central Hungary, Hungary

Free breakfast buffet, free Wi-Fi, stylish interiors, and a super convenient location bring the Atrium Fashion Hotel to sixth place on our list. It's situated just east of the city center on a pedestrian-friendly street in Pest. Rooms aren't quite as up to snuff as the public spaces, which include an artistic lobby set with contemporary furniture and a multi-story atrium. Minimalist white bookshelves hold art books and guidebooks against a bold lime green wall. 57 rooms are equipped with minibars, flat-screen TVs, and electric kettles, though many overlook the interior atrium instead of the outdoors.

7

Mango Aparthotel and Spa

Budapest, Central Hungary, Hungary

Room rates vary at the All-4U Apartments, Hungary and there are deals to be had, but prepare to pay extra to use the gym, spa, saunas, pool, and air-conditioning. Studio, one-, and two-bedroom apartments are nicely furnished with wood floors and original artwork. Flat-screen TVs, full kitchens, balconies, and washing machines make the set-up perfect for families and couples that want to self cater. The location in the city's Jewish District puts guests at a quick walk to restaurants and shops, and 24 minutes to the Budapest Airport.

8

Hotel Hungaria City Center

Budapest, Central Hungary, Hungary

Set on a busy main road two blocks from the Keleti train station, the 468-room Hotel Hungaria City Center is a large budget hotel. Rooms are clean but dated with tube-style TVs and occasionally threadbare carpets. The property is situated in a neighborhood full of retail shops and some eateries, which may be cheaper than in other parts of the city, if mostly average. Original oil paintings by local artists hang in the lobby and live music is occasionally presented. This is a solid pick for those who want to save money but don't plan on doing much other than sleeping at the hotel.
