The hotel has the word "family" in it for a reason: the vast majority of guests here are families with kids, and the hotel caters to them with kids' menus at the restaurant and a kids' club in the summer. The general atmosphere is homey with white walls, matching floral sofas and chairs, and a vase of artificial sunflowers in the lobby. Guests enter the restaurant through a glass door accented with painted fruit. White tablecloths and napkins add a hint of formality while a hand-painted mural of the Italian countryside brings a bit of color to the space. A flat-screen TV is on the wall next to the bar. Outside, the grounds are neat but fairly simple. A hill abuts the back of the pool and trimmed hedges and trees provide greenery. 

Family Spa Hotel Le Canne is located in a bland neighborhood about a 10-minute drive from Forio, a touristy village and port in the northwest area of Ischia island. Walking near the hotel isn't recommended as there isn't a sidewalk and cars are known to drive quickly, plus there isn't anything of interest to walk to. With a car, the beaches, villages, and port can be reached within 15 to 20 minutes. Parking at the hotel is free. 

The rooms at Family Spa Hotel Le Canne aren't the highlight of the hotel. They're on the small side and have outdated decor that includes heavy wood furniture, floral floor tiles, and ugly orange polyester bedspreads. White walls are decorated with simple artwork like a painting of a basket filled with flowers. Past guests have complained about cleanliness issues. Amenities include free Wi-Fi, air-conditioning, small flat-screen TVs, and furnished outdoor terraces. Narrow bathrooms include a single sink, toilet, bidet, and shower covered with a pink curtain.

Le Canne has a variety of features that focus on family needs, such as the seasonal kids' club that provides activities for little ones at the hotel and on the beach. The on-site restaurant serves kid-friendly fare and there's a parent's corner with a kitchenette for preparing bottles and baby food. Breakfast is served buffet style, and there are made-to-order dishes and buffet options for lunch and dinner. Guests can swim in the large, deep pool at the hotel or take the free and regular shuttle to the beach, which has a full club and facilities.
