With a large wraparound porch and great views of the coast and Haystock Rock, The Ocean Lodge conjures up a feeling of a beach resort of yesteryear. Yet there’s nothing outdated about this property; in fact, its tasteful lodge setting would be equally at home in the Adirondacks as it is on a supreme stretch of Oregon beach. The 45 rooms and suites include working fireplaces, kitchenettes, and, for some, ocean views. With easy beach access, cookies and organic coffee in the lobby at all hours, and a free continental breakfast, the hotel is a popular choice for families (and their pets) who choose it as their home base on the Oregon Coast again and again.

Set on a magnificent stretch of sandy Oregon beach, the Schooner's Cove Inn takes full advantage of its enviable vantage point on the Pacific, with views from most of its 30 guest rooms. The rooms feel more like small apartments than hotel rooms; most have full kitchens and many have gas fireplaces. Hotel features are limited, but include an indoor hot tub, a grassy lawn with grills and tables, and easy access to the sandy beach. Free cookies, granola bars, fruit, and coffee are available in the lobby.

The 129-room Hallmark Resort Cannon Beach is located right on the beach in the south part of town, overlooking the iconic Haystack Rock. Units include from rooms, one- or two-bedroom suites, and beach houses, and the hotel has unusually extensive features, by Cannon Beach standards. There's direct beach access from the hotel, but as Oregon's coastal waters are usually too cold for even the bravest of swimmers, the hotel has two indoor saltwater pools, three whirlpools, an adults-only sauna, and a spa with hydrotherapy.

The three-pearl Tolovana Inn is a beachside property with 176 rooms, most of which have full kitchens. Some rooms also have gas fireplaces and views of the beach, and the largest units have two bedrooms and can sleep up to six. The hotel is located right on the beach, though it's a bit removed from the main downtown part of Cannon Beach; guests either need to drive there or take the hotel's shuttle. There's also an indoor pool with a hot tub and sauna, but no on-site restaurant.
