Best Kid-Friendly Hotels in Capri

Capri is a magnet for honeymooners and the jet set, meaning that most of its hotels fall firmly into a “romantic/elegant/exclusive” classification. Local kid-friendly hotels may be few and far between, but we scoured the island looking for the select few that provide a comfortable atmosphere for families. Check out our picks!

Hotel Weber Ambassador Capri

Capri, Island of Capri

The 81-room Hotel Weber Ambassador Capri wins in terms of location, with plenty of vantage points for taking in the stunning sea views and Capri’s famed Faraglioni. Just above the beach and close to town, the hotel offers easy access to island sites via a free (and frequent) hotel shuttle, and access to Marina Piccola Beach. There are three outdoor pools, two of which are adults-only and one for kids. Though the hotel itself could use some refurbishing and has dated decor, rooms are spacious and clean, and many have huge terraces with unforgettable views. Breakfast is available (with a surcharge), but there's no full restaurant.

Casa Mariantonia

Anacapri, Island of Capri

Centrally located along the main pedestrian street in Anacapri, the upper-middle-range Casa Mariatonia is a charming, family-owned boutique property with outdoor garden, beautiful pool, and homey atmosphere. The nine rooms include air-conditioning, LED TVs with SKY channels, and terraces or balconies; the top-floor suite offers sweeping Mediterranean views, queen-size sofa bed, optional third bed, and two bathrooms, making it a good pick for families. An on-site restaurant and bar offers outdoor seating in a lemon grove. Breakfast is free (with cooked eggs, freshly baked cakes, yogurt, and more), as is Wi-Fi.

Capri Wine Hotel

Capri, Island of Capri

There's no shortage of inviting outdoor spaces, sea views, and rustic appeal at this former winery. The hilltop location allows for stunning Bay of Naples views from just about everywhere, including the breakfast area where guests sit on a stone patio under big umbrellas and look out at the sea. The 10 smallish rooms are simply furnished and include flat-screen TVs with satellite, free Wi-Fi, and bathrooms with rain showerheads; all rooms but one have sea views. The hotel is a 10-minute walk from the Piazzetta, but guests find the curvy, narrow roads challenging after dark. Note that the hotel is only open April through November.

4

Hotel La Tosca

Capri, Island of Capri

The 11-room budget Hotel La Tosca is a single-story bed-and-breakfast, wonderfully situated on a quiet lane but in the heart of town. It shares real estate -- and views -- with more upscale properties. Interiors are super clean and simple: lots of white with colorful accents, tile floors, and plenty of natural light. Guest rooms are sparse but also airy, with private, up-to-date bathrooms. Overall, it's perfectly suited to couples or families looking to experience Capri on a budget. Another option travelers could consider is the Hotel Weber Ambassador Capri, which also includes a pool, something La Tosca lacks.
