Scene

Luxury hotel popular with honeymooners

Villa Marina Hotel & Spa is popular with newlyweds for its beautiful atmosphere and romantic sea views. Hammocks tied between palm trees and chairs sitting under vine-covered pergolas offer lovely places to relax and enjoy the scenery. Manicured hedges and low stone walls add appeal to the grounds as well, and sea views are available from a variety of locations including the pool area and the outdoor dining area, a rustic space with a thatch ceiling and tropical fans. Indoor areas at the hotel are sleek and modern in comparison, including the indoor dining room with sweeping gray curtains and black-and-white photographs of beach scenes, or the lobby bar with chunky mirrored coffee tables, loveseats with clashing teal and brown patterns, and a marble chess set.

Location

Hilltop location within short walk to port and beach

Villa Marina Hotel & Spa has a hilltop location within a 10-minute walk to the beach and the port where ferries connect to Naples and Sorrento. The hotel also offers a free shuttle to the port or Piazzetta, a five-minute drive, where there are plenty of shops and restaurants. The Piazzetta can also be reached on foot by a 17-minute walk, but many guests find the location a bit too far from the center of town. Staff can arrange airport transfers to the tune of a few hundred dollars.

Rooms

Attractive rooms with a variety of decor and modern bathrooms

Rooms at Villa Marina Hotel & Spa vary in decor. Some have romantic appeal with four-poster beds and rich green or red drapery, while others have sea motifs that include pillows and closets covered in seashell and coral patterns. All rooms have flat-screen TVs with pay-per-view channels, minibars, and free Wi-Fi. Bathrooms are sleek with modern features like vessel sinks and rain showerheads. Some bathrooms have shower/tub combinations while others only have stand-up showers. Bathrobes and slippers are provided in all rooms. Premium rooms are available with extra features like single-cup coffee machines, large furnished terraces with sea views, and private whirlpools.

Features

Free breakfast, restaurant, spa, and outdoor pool

The hotel serves a free breakfast with pastries, cereals, and cheeses. Guests can choose to sit indoors or outdoors for sea views. The restaurant, Ziqu', earns good reviews for its cuisine, and the hotel also has a lobby bar -- though prices are high. Room service is available 24 hours a day. The spa has a sauna, small fitness area, Turkish bath, showers, indoor pool, whirlpool, and a variety of services available such as massages, mud therapy, and Reiki. There’s a small outdoor pool with lounge chairs and sea views. A meeting room is available that can seat up to 20 guests, and the hotel is pet-friendly. Wi-Fi is free throughout the property.
