Grand Cayman Marriott Beach Resort
389 West Bay Road

The upscale Grand Cayman Marriott Beach resort isn’t the flashiest hotel on Seven Mile Beach, but it’s a tried-and-true favorite of many Cayman travelers. The 295-room resort appeals to families and middle-aged couples who come for the direct beach access, solid amenities, and convenient location. Rooms are somewhat small, and feature boring generic decor that feels unmemorable at this price point, though they have balconies, coffeemakers, and hairdryers. A medium-sized pool, two restaurants serving international fare, and a small spa and fitness center are all on-site. Loyal Marriott customers may prefer to use their points elsewhere on the island: The Ritz is more luxurious, while the Westin has a more happening atmosphere.

The Westin Grand Cayman Seven Mile Beach Resort & Spa
30620 Seven Mile Beach

Situated right on famous and beautiful Seven Mile Beach, The Westin Grand Cayman Seven Mile Beach Resort & Spa is an upscale property with lots for both couples and families. Renovated in 2017, the 343 guest rooms are bright and stylish, equipped with large flat-screen TVs, coffeemakers, and robes. However, not all come with balconies or patios, and rooms have either shower/tub combos or showers only. Resort features include a large freshwater outdoor pool, two hot tubs, expansive spa facilities with a whirlpool and Vichy showers, a modern fitness center, and water sports such as kayaking, plus a kids' club. Dining options range from an upscale seafood restaurant to relaxed Caribbean fare to a poolside bar and grill. The high daily resort fee is a downside for many past guests. Travelers may want to consider the more expensive Ritz-Carlton, Grand Cayman, which adds a nine-hole golf course and a splash park.

Caribbean Club Luxury Boutique Hotel
871 West Bay Road

The Caribbean Club is a luxury boutique hotel located on Grand Cayman’s famous Seven Mile Beach. The 37 spacious one-, two-, and three-bedroom suites and villas are individually owned and exquisitely decorated, and all have full kitchens, large furnished balconies with ocean views, and some marble bathrooms with separate whirlpool tubs and rainfall showers. The Club has one of the nicest stretches of beach along the Seven Mile coast with white sand and calm waves, plus the hotel offers free cabanas. The beach and pool areas are not crowded, allowing for a quiet and serene tropical getaway. Luca, the restaurant, is one of the best on the island. The two things missing are breakfast and a spa. The nearby Ritz-Carlton may have more features (including six restaurants and a luxe spa), but units are not as large and the beach is crowded.

Comfort Suites Seven Mile Beach
22 Piper Way

Comfort Suites is arguably the best affordable option in the expensive Seven Mile Beach area of Grand Cayman. A mid-level chain, it has all the expected basic amenities –- clean and modern rooms, business and fitness centers, free hot breakfast, and free Wi-Fi. Other draws include an attractive pool area, a small but beautiful beachfront, an on-site restaurant and bar with surprisingly good food, and a dive shop. It's hard to do better for your money in this area -- just be aware Comfort Suites isn't directly on the sand (it's about a minute's walk down a private path) and its section of beach is a bit small.

Kimpton Seafire Resort + Spa
60 Tanager Way

Opened in November 2016, the luxury Kimpton Seafire Resort and Spa impresses with its chic decor, top-notch amenities, and secluded location on Seven Mile Beach. Superb on-site dining and a standout spa appeal to couples and business travelers, while the multi-tiered pool and kids' club attract families -- though the resort’s serene atmosphere is more romantic than kid-centric. The 266 rooms are swish and bright, outfitted with vibrant decor, furnished balconies, stand-alone tubs, and yoga mats. The Kimpton is slightly removed from all the action of Seven Mile Beach’s main resort strip. Travelers looking for a luxury resort in the center of all the action may prefer the Ritz Carlton, a larger property with more amenities and better facilities for kids.

Discovery Point Club
2043 West Bay Road

The Discovery Point Club is made up of one- and two-bedroom condos with fully equipped kitchens, spacious living rooms, and gorgeous ocean views. As with most condos in the area, the units are individually owned and decorated; the furnishings here are typically modern and welcoming. Located along Seven Mile Beach, the Club has a large but slightly rocky beach and a beautiful pool and hot tub area. This relaxing property is well-suited to both couples and families coming to Grand Cayman for a longer stay.

Plantana Condominiums
1293 West Bay Road

The one- to three-bedroom condos at this intimate, 49-unit property are individually decorated, and most have attractive, modern beach style. All have kitchens and big balconies with either garden or beautiful ocean views. Right on Grand Cayman’s famous Seven Mile Beach, Plantana has one of the best beachfronts in the area, as well as a large pool overlooking the ocean. Lush, tropical landscaping surrounds the buildings. As at most condo properties in the area, there aren’t many additional amenities -- the property lacks a fitness center, restaurant, and on-site water sports provider. Still, prices are competitive for what you get.

Coral Stone Club
985 West Bay Road, PO Box 30105

Coral Stone Club is an upper-middle-range hotel located directly on the pristine Seven Mile Beach. The property consists of 30 three-bedroom condo units, all of which offer full kitchens and large living areas. Units are individually decorated, but most feature attractive, contemporary decor and all have balconies or terraces overlooking the beach. The property offers direct access to a pristine stretch of Seven Mile Beach, and an above-average fitness center and outdoor pool. A large ratio of beach and pool space to number of guests ensures the common areas are rarely crowded. Travelers may want to compare rates and amenities with nearby Plantana Condominiums, which have full kitchens and screened lanais.

Aqua Bay Club Condos
2093 West Bay Road

Aqua Bay Club is a three-pearl hotel located on a peaceful stretch of famous Seven Mile Beach. The property consists of 21 individually decorated condo units, all of which offer bright living areas and kitchens along with furnished patios or balconies. Guests have direct access to an uncrowded stretch of sand, and the hotel has an appealing outdoor pool and hot tub area overlooking the coast. Like many other condominiums on the island, on-site amenities are otherwise limited. It’s worth comparing rates with neighboring Discovery Point Club.

The Ritz-Carlton, Grand Cayman
West Bay Road

The grande dame of Grand Cayman, the 365-room Ritz-Carlton is a showstopper luxury property. Sprawled across 144 acres, the Ritz is the island’s most amenity-packed resort, with two big pools, five restaurants -- including sushi, Italian, and seafood -- a spa, fitness center, golf course, and a stellar kids' club, just to name a few. Rooms are styled with traditional decor and beachy accents, plus separate tubs and rainfall showers, though most do not have ocean views. The property straddles two sides of West Bay Road, which means guests will need to walk a significant distance to reach almost anything. Travelers not needing a spa or kid-friendly amenities may prefer the Caribbean Club Luxury Boutique Hotel, which offers spacious units that all have full kitchens and ocean views.
