DusitD2 Chiang Mai

Chang Moi, Thailand

The Dusit D2 is a hip urban-chic hotel that's popular among the young party crowd, thanks to its mood-lit lobby bar, open-air restaurant with live entertainment, and choice setting (the hotel is located right across the street from the famous Night Bazaar, in the heart of downtown Chiang Mai). The rooms are small, but they're sleek and spiffy, with rain showers, pillow menus, DVD players, and flat-screen LCD TVs.

Raming Lodge Hotel & Spa

Chang Moi, Thailand

The Raming Lodge Hotel & Spa is a medium-sized hotel located just outside the east gate of the historical old city of Chiang Mai. Rooms here are spacious and furnished in contemporary Thai style with bright colors and all have flat-screen TVs, writing desks, mini-fridges, safes, and free Wi-Fi. Higher category rooms include free airport transfers and free minibar snacks. The hotel features a small swimming pool (that can get crowded), a massage spa, and a happening gourmet burger restaurant and bar. For its size and location, it is great value compared to similar properties around it, but the street it sits on is clogged with traffic.

Club One Seven Chiang Mai

Chiang Mai, Thailand

The 11-room, men-only Club One Seven Chiang Mai is a gay-friendly hotel on the Ping River in Chiang Mai's residential Chang Khlan area south of the Old City. Traditional teak wood rooms have en-suite tile bathrooms, and some have terraces with exceptional river or garden views. There is a popular sauna and outdoor pool, as well as free breakfast served at the on-site restaurant and bar. No female guests or children are allowed at the hotel, and the rustic vibe and hotel's age (which shows in some spots) won't be for everyone. For more traditional digs, guests should consider Dusit D2, near the Night Market, which doesn't have a men-only policy.
