Ca' de Baran consists of a small reception office and several off-site hotel rooms and full apartments. The reception desk has stone walls and tile floors, plus a small desk where guests check in and out. Staff is there during office hours (or later, for guests who confirm their arrival time in advance) and can assist with storing luggage, answering questions, and providing directions. Other than the reception office, there aren't additional public spaces in the hotel. Guests are usually tourists, with a mix of couples, families, and friends who prefer serviced apartments over traditional hotel rooms. 

This hotel's reception office is located in the heart of the village of Manarola, on Rinato Birolli, the main street in town, which is full of souvenir shops, bars, and seafood restaurants. The train station (with trains headed up and down Cinque Terre) is an easy two-minute walk from the hotel. It's also close to the boat docks for access to all of the Cinque Terre by ferry, and swimming off the rocky shores. Rooms and apartments are within a two block radius from the reception office, and the entire area is noisy and bustling -- especially in high season. For hiking, the Via dell' Amore trail can be reached in about 20 minutes on foot. It's not particularly convenient to arrive by car, as the parking lot is before the entrance to the village, about a 15-minute walk from the hotel. Pisa International Airport is about two hours away by train or an hour and 20 minutes in the car. 

Ca' de Baran offers a mix of contemporary studios and full apartments, either on or right behind the main drag in Manarola. The studios are located close to the reception office, and these three units share a balcony overlooking the street. These simple rooms feature a double bed, air-conditioning, flat-screen TV, mini-fridge, free Wi-Fi, and coffeemaker. The wardrobe provides space for storing clothes and a small table holds the coffee supplies. Private bathrooms include a shower, and come with toiletries and wall-mounted hairdryers. Past guests have noted that noise can be an issue, especially during the crowded high season.

Apartments are located off a quieter side street near the reception office. The largest apartment can sleep up to six people, with two bedrooms and a futon in the large living room. It also has a full kitchen, washing machine, and a balcony with a sliver of the sea visible in the distance. Note that some of the apartments are located up four flights of stairs, so guests with mobility issues should double check the location of their apartment. Daily housekeeping comes standard in all of the units. 

Ca' de Baran doesn't really offer any features, apart from the extremely walkable and picturesque location. There's a small reception desk for assistance with directions, checking in, and storing luggage. But no breakfast is served and there isn't a restaurant. Wi-Fi is free in all of the units. The village's parking lot is about one mile from the reception office, and is operated independently of the hotel.
