A friendly and relaxed atmosphere permeates the tropical beach-themed Bahama House. The lobby has light tile and green leaf-patterned carpeting along with potted plants, recessed lighting, and sea-inspired sculptures. Several wood chairs are organized into small seating areas, one of which has a flat-screen TV. Freshly baked cookies and free newspapers are available, and there is a free daily cocktail hour with wine, popcorn, mixed drinks, and snacks. Brown wicker chairs and glass-topped tables decorate the breakfast area, which has floor-to-ceiling windows that let in lots of natural light, seashell light fixtures, and jungle murals.

The Bahama House is on Daytona Beach, within walking distance of lots of shops and restaurants, and a short jaunt to Congo River Golf-Daytona Beach. The Jackie Robinson Ballpark and Statue, Boardwalk Amusement Area and Pier, Ocean Walk Village, and Daytona Lagoon Waterpark are all within a five-minute drive from the hotel, while Volusia Mall and the Daytona International Speedway are about 10 minutes away. The Daytona Beach International Airport is a 13-minute drive.

The rooms at Bahama House are large and clean -- but plain -- with red patterned carpet matched to red drapes and red plaid bed runners. Small flat-screen TVs sit on top of light-wood dressers and all rooms come with ceiling fans in addition to air-conditioning. Green armchairs and red couches add extra seating, and there are small dining spaces with white wood chairs and tables. Several rooms have large living areas with wicker furniture and floor-to-ceiling windows for extra light. Some rooms feature kitchens with speckled gray granite countertops, full-size refrigerators, cooktops, microwaves, coffeemakers and toasters, while others only have mini-fridges, coffeemakers, and microwaves. Several rooms also have balconies with seating and wonderful ocean views. Free newspapers are provided. While the rooms are pleasant overall, some guests have complained of musty smells and many kitchens are short on counter space. Bathrooms are basic and have speckled gray granite countertops and tan tile floors. Most come with shower/tub combos and some bathrooms have jetted tubs. Klenz brand toiletries are provided. 

For many guests, the main reason to stay at Bahama House is to take advantage of its direct access to Daytona Beach. There's also a nice outdoor pool and small hot tub on a brick deck with white lounge chairs and beautiful ocean views. A free continental breakfast of hardboiled eggs, biscuits and gravy, fruit, yogurt, coffee, and pastries receives good reviews from most visitors, and there is a golf concierge on-site to assist with excursions. The hotel also offers a free daily cocktail reception with wine, mixed drinks, and snacks. Free Wi-Fi is available, but the connection can be slow. Parking is also available free of charge.
