Boardwalk Plaza Hotel is a charming property with a homey atmosphere. The interior decor has Victorian flair and includes antique furnishings such as wooden furniture, floral couches, drapes, rugs, vintage clocks, and antique lamps -- though many of the items are quite fussy and dated, even for antiques. The lobby features brown leather club chairs set in front of a fireplace, and pet parrots kept in cages. Floral designs can be seen throughout the hotel, especially on the carpets, furniture, and on wallpaper. The restaurant has a similar Victorian style with a turquoise and pale pink color scheme. Some of the meeting spaces have a teal and fuchsia color scheme. Most guests are couples who can be seen congregating on the rooftop sundeck. Families stay here too, but tend to spend most of their time on the sand as the indoor pool is small.  

Located on the Rehoboth Beach Boardwalk, the hotel has an ideal location for families and couples who want to stay on the beach and be within walking distance to downtown Rehoboth. Rehoboth Avenue, four minutes away on foot, is lined with a variety of shops and restaurants. Tanger Outlet Rehoboth Beach offers a variety of outlet stores and is a nine-minute drive away. Business travelers should note that the Rehoboth Beach Convention Center is a nine-minute walk from the hotel. It takes about 40 minutes to reach the Delaware Coastal Airport. Underground parking for one car per room is available for free. 

The hotel’s charming, or fussy, antique Victorian-style can also be seen in the rooms, though like the hotel, some of the furniture and bedding appear more dated than antique. Think: Elegant wooden headboards, floral blue bedding with curtains to match, cream floral wallpaper, and antique wooden desks and vanities. All rooms include a flat-screen TV, safe, and coffee/tea maker. Some Deluxe Rooms include couches. Guests have the option of booking rooms with balconies and oceanfront views. Suites include minibars and separate seating areas, while an Efficiency comes with a galley-style kitchen. Bathrooms aren’t quite spacious enough, but have shower/tub combos, magnifying mirrors, toiletries, and vanity counter tops with storage space in the cabinets. Oceanfront King or Queen Deluxe rooms also have a whirlpool bath. 

The hotel has a variety of family-friendly, romantic, and business amenities. Though small, the heated spa pool is a nice perk and has adults-only hours in the evening. There's an adjacent whirlpool on the outdoor deck. As for romantic features, there's a concierge floor that is exclusive to adults and provides access to a rooftop sundeck that has lounge chairs, views of the beach, and a hot tub. An on-site 24-hour fitness center and yoga on the beach are attractive amenities.

Children’s supervised activities are available during the week. Children’s beach toys, towels, and umbrellas can be rented from the hotel for use on the sand. 

Victoria’s Restaurant, which has indoor and outdoor patio seating, and the Plaza Pub are the two dining options beyond room service. The restaurant sometimes has entertainment in the evenings, and an afternoon tea for a fee is available. But guests have complained about the food quality in the restaurant.  

Business travelers can make use of the business center and fully equipped meeting spaces. The Plaza Cottage can be rented out for an event. Wi-Fi is free throughout the property.
