Everything at the Amwaj Rotana is big and impressive, yet the atmosphere remains serene, with nothing too overwhelming or over-the-top that might detract from the tranquil space. The lobby is open and spacious, with high ceilings and dark wood floors and wall panels. Antique furnishings sit subtly in corners while a sunken lounge beckons guests to relax. With only the beach and ocean in the horizon, the hotel is bright and relies heavily on natural lighting.

There's a pleasant and easy-going atmosphere throughout, the vast majority of guests are there to relax and enjoy their holiday. The hotel is mainly geared toward tourists because of its proximity to the beach and its boardwalk, known as The Walk. That said, the hotel retains a professional atmosphere, and is an appropriate choice for business travelers. 

The Amwaj Rotana is just one of the posh beach hotels along the Jumeirah Beach strip. It's convenient for beach-goers, as it's a short walk from the private beach and a variety of shops. The Walk -- the beachside boardwalk -- is Dubai's answer to the Venice Beach or Puerto Vallarta boardwalks. Here, guests will find a variety of shops, restaurants, cafes, and bars, along with street art and performers. A downside is that the hotel is at the end of New Dubai, making the airport, business district and shopping malls further out of reach. But for guests who simply want to go the beach and try a few restaurants after an evening stroll, this is the place. The Jumeirah Lakes Towers Metro Station 2 is a 15-minute walk from the hotel and offers access to the Red Line, which travels through Internet City, Mall of the Emirates, Downtown Dubai, and the financial district. The Dubai Airport is a half-hour drive away and the Abu Dhabi International Airport takes just under an hour to reach by car. 

A soothing neutral color palette makes for a truly relaxing and elegant space. Every one of the 301 rooms has a private balcony with patio seating and either a partial or full view of the beautiful Arabian Gulf. All rooms come with air-conditioning, writing desks, flat-screen TVs, and tea- and coffee-making facilities. Wi-Fi is available for a fee, although Club Rotana Rooms include free breakfast, afternoon tea, Wi-Fi, and airport transfers as well as access to a lounge with two computer stations. Spacious bathrooms have shower/tub combos as well as robes and slippers. 

The hotel has multiple ocean-facing dining options with varied cuisines that offer alfresco dining and 24-hour room service. Horizon Restaurant is open throughout the day and has international dishes served buffet- and a la carte-style. Benihana is a Japanese-fusion restaurant that specializes in sushi. Italian dishes and wines can be found at Rosso. The Sundeck Pool Bar is ideal for informal dining, and makes for a perfect hangout spot away from the bustle of The Walk. The hotel's Bodylines gym comes equipped with weights, cardio equipment, a sauna, a steam room, and a hot tub. Personal trainers and massage services are also available. The gym is open to non-overnight guests during the day, but those staying at the hotel get 24-hour access. The Amwaj also has two heated outdoor pools (one adult, one for kids). Event space includes a ballroom big enough to host up to 350 people, and three meeting rooms can be set up in any way or style for presentations and meetings.
