The lobby and common areas of the Four Points by Sheraton Bur Dubai are clean, sleek, and filled with fresh foliage. Marble floors, staircases with ornate iron railings, gilded chandeliers, and leather chairs lend a familiar Western comfort. Each of the four restaurants is decorated according to a vibrant, modern personality suited to its respective culture (Portuguese, Indian, etc), but the hotel isn’t of the big resort variety that feels like vacation destination in itself. The hotel is undergoing a major renovation in early 2015 giving its public areas a more modern and distinctive feel, but, for now, it's perfectly fine, if a bit bland and familiar. The outdoor pool area is open and clean, with wooden loungers, but somewhat sparse and lacking a view and direct sunlight, as it is surrounded by concrete wall. Meeting rooms and the enormous ballroom are dark but elegant, with classic chain hotel style. The real character of the hotel abounds in the restaurants: the Antique Bazaar restaurant features -- in addition to ornate velvet chairs and dark wood tables -- live dancers several days a week, and the fun, rustic Picante Portuguese restaurant has an atmospheric clay oven in the corner, where the restaurant's home-baked bread is made. The renovation will hopefully bring more lounges and space in the lobby; although it is spacious, seating is limited.

The hotel is located in centre of Bur Dubai -- the “Old Dubai” neighborhood -- on the busy Bank Street, one of the city’s main commercial areas, surrounded by banks, offices, shops, and restaurants. The nearest metro stop is about 10 minutes down the road and from there, any city attraction can be reached within 30 minutes. The Dubai Museum, Creek Walk, and Bastakiya District are all about a 10-minute walk from the hotel, and the Bur Juman Shopping Mall is less than five minutes away on foot. The airport is about 10 minutes away by car, 15 by metro. The Gold Souk is about 15 minutes away by metro and the Dubai Mall, World Trade Center, and Finance Center are about 20 minutes away. The hotel offers free parking to guests, as well as a car rental desk.

With just 125 rooms,The Sheraton Bur Dubai is among the smaller hotels in the area, but rooms are modern and spacious with plush, comfortable beds. The style is that of an upscale chain in the US, complete with a neutral color palette, patterned carpet and wallpaper, wood furniture, a light-colored upholstered chair or sofa, and a glass desk with a rolling office chair. More personality comes through in the artistic wooden lamps and floral canvas prints above the beds. Some rooms come with a welcome fruit basket and free bottled water, and all have free Wi-Fi, a large flat-screen TV, coffee- and tea-making gear, a fully equipped minibar, and individually controlled air-conditioning. Bathrooms are bright and clean with large stone tiles, a hairdryer, tub and cosmetic mirrors, and an oddly placed window in the combination rainfall shower/tub, exposing it to the rest of the room (although there are blinds for privacy). There are no notable views from the rooms, but they are well-lit. Smoking and non-smoking rooms are available.

The Sheraton Bur Dubai has four restaurants and cafes, including the Portuguese restaurant Picante, which bakes its own bread, and the Indian restaurant Antique Bazaar, which features live dancers throughout the week. Breakfast (not included in rate) is served in the French-themed Promenade restaurant. There's also a small but well-equipped fitness center, a heated outdoor pool and hot tub, and a beautifully tiled Moroccan hammam sauna with spa and salon treatments. The hotel also has several ballroom and meeting/event spaces, fully equipped for any event. There's on-site garage parking, laundry and dry cleaning services, a 24-hour concierge, a rental car desk, a tour desk, a business center, and free Wi-Fi.
