The 40-story H Dubai is a modern building with luxurious and stylishly designed interiors, though they aren't the opulent affair of many area properties. Chic, contemporary, and Arabian-inspired decor consists of raised lobby seating, patterned floors, arched windows, and lots of gleaming marble. The array of bars and restaurants have their own theme, but every space here has a formal elegance. The polished vibe and quiet atmosphere are particularly attractive to the mostly business travelers that come here --due to the hotel's convenient setting near the World Trade Centre. Although not the most convenient for tourists, the outdoor pool, expansive spa, and highly praised service also attract couples and families. 

The H Dubai sits on a service road off the northern end of the main Sheikh Zayed Road. The service road provides a buffer for the heavily trafficked highway. Guests can reach Dubai’s World Trade Centre and the metro station of the same name within a five- to 10-minute walk. Farther down the road is Zabeel Park, which has a jogging path, gardens, and lake. Behind the hotel, guests can explore Old Dubai's shops and cheap food venues. More restaurants can be found down at the Satwa Roundabout, which will take 13 minutes on foot to reach. Guests can get to the Dubai Mall in 10 minutes by car and the Mall of the Emirates in about 13 minutes. Downtown Dubai, the Burj Khalifa, and Jumeirah Beach are all about 15 minutes away by car. Dubai International Airport is around a 15-minute drive, while Al Maktoum International Airport is 40 minutes away.

The 236 spacious rooms at the H Dubai are styled in sophisticated, contemporary Middle Eastern decor, with floor-to-ceiling windows that let in lots of light. Rooms either have carpeting or hardwood floors with area rugs. The elegant design includes mostly neutral tones with pops of vibrant royal-purple or burgundy. Higher floors offer sea views, despite the distance to the beach, while other have city views. Rooms range from entry-level Deluxe Rooms up to the palatial two-story Royal Suite, plus there are studios and one- and two-bedroom residences with kitchenettes. 

Standard amenities include flat-screen TVs, media hubs, free Wi-Fi, seating areas, desks, minibars, free bottled water, and coffee- and tea-making facilities. Inside the closets are bathrobes, slippers, and safes. Swish marble bathrooms have rainfall showers next to deep bathtubs, plus bidets, TVs, toiletries, and hairdryers. Upgraded units may add dining areas, washer/dryers, big separate living rooms, or full kitchens. The Royal Suite has a massive outdoor terrace with a pool.

Travelers looking for a respite from the Dubai sun can head to the hotel's lovely outdoor pool. It's a good size and has an urban-chic atmosphere, as well as a kiddy section. Loungers, umbrellas, and dining tables are also within the pool terrace. The poolside bar, Glow, doubles as a hookah lounge, plus it has a full menu of Middle Eastern dishes and cocktails. 

For further relaxation, Mandara Spa is well-reviewed and expansive, housing several treatment rooms, a sauna, whirlpool, experiential showers, and steam room. Quantum Health Club has a women-only and coed section for visitors wanting to make use of the cardio and weight-training equipment. Group classes are also offered.

Multiple meeting and event spaces are on-site, and Wi-Fi is free throughout.

In addition to Glow, the hotel has 10 more restaurants and bars, providing guests with an impressive array of dining options. Some standouts include Play, which is a trendy venue on the 36th floor, offering Mediterranean-Asian fusion cuisine and live music. OKKU restaurant serves well-regarded Japanese fare, and sometimes has late-night disk-jockeys. 

Open all day, the Black Lion offers street-food-inspired fare and beer, like a traditional English pub. The Sunday roast is a fan favorite, and the atmosphere is casual. Rooftop 40 Kong is an outdoor lounge with a trendy vibe, known for its discretion on who gets past the doors. Diademas Cigar Lounge is a sophisticated lounge with masculine decor.
