Dublin 1 Apartments are situated in two buildings -- six of the apartments are in a simple Georgian town house with a brick facade and bright red door, while the other four are in a more modern annex called Mellor Court, just around the corner (a one-minute walk away). The reception area is a small outpost off the main building and, apart from this, the property essentially has no other common areas. The entryway to the Georgian town house offers a traditional homey feel, though, with purple carpeting and coordinating wallpapered wainscoting. A vintage wood desk holds a few pamphlets, and carpeted stairs lead up to the rooms (there's no elevator). There's a certain casualness about the place -- the property is owner-run, and staff aren't always found at reception. But guests find them helpful on the whole, and they do possess great knowledge of the area. The apartment-style accommodations make this ideal for longer stays for families and friend groups, while the hotel's vicinity to Dublin's party area attracts some bachelorette parties. 

The apartments are exceptionally well located in the heart of Dublin on Abbey Street (just off bustling O'Connell), with plenty of restaurants, bars, shops, and a few clubs right in the neighborhood. Dublin's party district is also an easy jaunt, with the renowned Temple Bar just a six-minute walk over Ha'penny Bridge. Jervis Shopping Center, a six-minute walk from the apartments, has shops along with grocery stores, ideal for making use of the apartment's kitchens. Trinity College is a 10-minute walk, and Dublin Castle is a 12-minute walk. For sights farther out, the red line tram runs right down Abbey Street, with the closest stop a four-minute walk from the hotel. Dublin Airport is about a 20-minute drive or 30 minutes away via public transit. Gated parking is available on-site, but costs an extra fee.

One- and two-bedroom apartments feature separate bedrooms, living areas (with one or two pull-out sofas), bathrooms, and kitchens. Decor is traditional, though it can verge on characterless depending on the room, and guests sometimes note wear-and-tear. Bedroom and living areas tend to feature neutral wall-to-wall carpeting, cream-colored walls, and a combination of faux brown leather and light wood furniture. Damask or floral accent walls add much-needed style and color and tend to pair well with colorful drapes or comforters, though some rooms have blank walls. The beige tiled bathrooms can be tiny, with small shower stalls and little standing room, though some units do have bathtubs. 

Fully equipped kitchens feature white cupboards, black backsplashes, and a nice range of modern appliances -- sinks, drainboards, microwaves, mini-fridges, stove tops, toasters, electric kettles, and french presses, plus cookware and dinnerware.

All apartments also include hairdryers, irons and ironing boards, and bedding, plus TVs and free Wi-Fi. Bathrooms are stocked with towels and toiletry dispensers. Apartments also have combo washer/dryers, but guests give them mixed reviews. There's no AC. Guests sometimes complain of noise, either internal noises from the stairwells and creaking floorboards or external noises from the bustling neighborhood below. 

This self-service-style apartment hotel has essentially no extra property features other and reception, which is only opened during limited hours. The hotel is owned and run by locals, so staff can make good recommendations, and luggage storage is available. Extra beds and kid-friendly amenities like high chairs and booster seats are available to borrow free of charge. Wi-Fi is also free. Limited parking is available, but it costs an extra fee. There is no breakfast service.
