The small town -- with a population of 6,086 -- is a quiet mountain destination for travelers. Rams Horn Village Resort is a 15-minute drive from Rocky Mountain National Park and its renowned hiking trails. Chasm Lake is a 19-minute drive away and Lake Estes a 10-minute drive. Driving to Estes Park Museum also takes 10 minutes. There are restaurants, markets, gas stations, and shops within a 10-minute walk of the resort. The Tiny Town Miniature Golf is a 15-minute walk away and the Trout Haven Fishing Pond is a two-minute drive. The Denver International Airport takes an hour and a half to get to by car. Skiing and snowboarding are available at the Eldora Mountain Resort, a little over an hour away.

The wooden cabins at Rams Horn Village Resort are rustic-inspired, but feel clean and contemporary, with all the requisite modern conveniences, like stainless steel appliances in kitchens, free Wi-Fi, and flat-screen TVs in the bedrooms and sitting areas. Long-term rentals are encouraged as these are time-share cabins. Each cabin sleeps up to six people and has two master suites, a dining room, two stories, and a living room with a log fireplace. Hand-carved wood furniture, leather sofas, and wildlife-inspired decor accentuate the Rocky Mountain feel. Bathrooms are basic and clean, with shower/tub combinations. Balconies and ground-floor patios also have custom wood furniture, grills, and views of the forest, mountains, or parking lot.

The Rams Horn Village Resort provides all the conveniences of home, including a communal laundry room with four washing machines and four dryers, as well as a small carpeted gym with a water cooler and modern equipment. Sports equipment, board games, movies, bicycles, and sleds are all available to borrow. There’s also a heated outdoor pool, open in the summer, surrounded by trees, plastic white loungers, and three hot tubs. There's also a playground for kids.

The clubhouse, which can be used for meetings or social gatherings, has a wood porch with rocking chairs; inside, there’s a fireplace, bathroom, conference tables, sitting area, and kitchen. The hotel hosts wine and cheese socials, a waffle breakfast and ice-cream parties in the clubhouse throughout the year.
