Hotel de la Pace is housed in a lovely building with an elegant facade featuring a mix of stone siding and shuttered windows dating from the late 19th-century. There's a Juliet balcony lined with planter boxes over the arched front door. Common areas are simple and contemporary, with charming details such as arched doorways with exposed brick and tall ceilings. The lobby is filled with wicker armchairs lined with soft white cushions and accented by gold lighting fixtures and an accent wall with black-and-white-striped wallpaper. A piano sits off to one side. The bar and breakfast area are equally charming and follow a similar decor scheme with large framed Florentine paintings and gong-like gold lamps. Most guests are couples, though there are larger rooms for groups, along with a few Single Rooms, which make it a good option for solo travelers and families. 

This hotel is located on a busy street leading to Florence’s city center and surrounded by a mix of private residences, schools, and offices. There are several cafes, gelato shops, and restaurants within a five-minute walk from the property. The Duomo is visible from the street and can be reached in about 15 minutes on foot. A left turn from the hotel entrance will lead directly to the Piazza San Marco and Galleria dell'Accademia in about five minutes. There's a bus stop serving several lines in front of the hotel, which gives access to the Santa Maria Novella station in about 15 minutes. Florence Airport is about an hour away by bus or a 20-minute drive.

Hotel de la Pace offers five types of room, ranging from snug, 12-square-meter (129-square-foot) Single Rooms up to spacious Family Rooms that sleep three or four guests and measure up to 28 square feet (301 square meters). Classic and Superior Rooms are ideal for two people, with two twins or a queen bed in the Classic Rooms and living areas with sofas in the Superior Rooms. Some Superior Rooms also have terraces and some of the units on the top floor have partial views of the Duomo. Decor and amenities are mostly consistent across categories. Terra-cotta floors are paired with a mix of wallpaper and accent walls in vibrant colors, usually with matching throw cushions, rugs, and curtains, plus framed artwork from the likes of DaVinci and Klimt on the wall. Standard amenities include air-conditioning, small flat-screen TVs, mini-fridges, kettles for making tea and instant coffee, safes, and free Wi-Fi. Bathrooms are spacious by local standards, and come with shower/tub combos, bidets, and small sink areas. Toiletries and hairdryers are provided. Light sleepers should note that past guests have complained of noise in street-facing rooms. 

The Hotel de la Pace offers few features, though there is a free breakfast that includes yogurts, meats, and cheeses that's served buffet style in the breakfast room or delivered to rooms for no extra fee. There's also a small lobby bar that serves cocktails and coffee drinks as well as light meals and snacks  throughout the day and evening. Free coffee and tea is available in the lobby all day long. The front desk is open 24 hours and staff can help with arranging tours, babysitting services, car rentals, museum tickets, laundry, and dry cleaning services. Free luggage storage is also available for guests with late departures out of Florence. Wi-Fi is free throughout the property. Small dogs and cats are allowed for no extra fee. Valet parking is available in a nearby garage for a daily fee.
