The Style Florence is part of the local chain that also owns the adjacent Ambasciatori and the nearby Club Florence hotels. The Style Florence, like the other properties, is modern and stylish, starting with the minimalist front desk and unadorned stone wall and bench in the reception area. The lobby is one flight up, near the meeting rooms. While a row of black-leather armchairs invites guests to linger, the space is a bit stark, save for a large Florentine painting hanging on the white wall. The hotel's central location draws tourists -- mainly couples -- as well as business travelers, but families check in here too, likely drawn by the possibility of joining rooms to create larger, self-catering apartments.

The Style Florence is centrally located across from Florence's main train station, Santa Maria Novella. The Sita bus terminal is also close by, which serves many destinations in Tuscany. The immediate area is congested and busy, but that's a given in central Florence. The must-see Duomo (Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore) is a 10-minute walk from the hotel, and the Galleria dell'Accademia, which houses Michelangelo's "David" and other notable sculptures, is a 15-minute walk. The Ponte Vecchio and the Uffizi Gallery are also about a 15-minute walk from the hotel. Florence Airport -- Amerigo Vespucci -- is about a 20-minute drive or train ride away, and Pisa International Airport is about a 70-minute drive.

Depending on what guests are looking for, there are an array of options available at this hotel, ranging from traditional rooms to individual Studio apartments, to suites that combine the two to create larger living spaces. The style is modern -- a refreshing change from some competing hotels in this category, which favor dated and bland decor -- with bold pops of red and orange splashed against primarily neutral backdrops. Black-and-white photos hang on striped cream-colored walls, and red accent walls add pizzazz. Some rooms might be a tad bright for some guests, but Executive Rooms stick to neutral palettes of gray, black, and white. 

Keep in mind that some Studios have sofa beds rather than proper beds, so check ahead, while the traditional rooms and suites will include a normal bed. Studios also come with kitchenettes with burners and microwaves hidden behind folding doors. Panoramic Suites, on the fourth floor, have furnished balconies with views of adjacent rooftops and the city. Soundproofing keeps the street noise out, but thin walls may an issue with interior noise. All rooms include air-conditioning, tea- or coffee-making facilities, minibars, free Wi-Fi, flat-screen TVs, and safes.
