Built in 1910, the hotel comprises five different two-story buildings with charming front porches and white picket fencing. With its casually elegant conch-style buildings, clapboard siding, breezy porch walkways, and tropical landscaping, the property is the quintessential, old-timey Key West retreat. The lobby is located in the main building, and is decorated simply with pale blue walls and beige tile floors, offset by white ceiling beams for a homey and beach-appropriate atmosphere. Coffee and chilled water are offered on a counter in the lobby. The outdoor, heated pool -- also surrounded by a picket fence -- has a beautiful red-brick deck and a waterfall. The lack of space at the pool area means there aren’t any lounge chairs available. However, a sun deck on the second floor does offer lounge chairs, patio furniture, and street views. The property draws tourists and couples looking to enjoy the Old Town scene and catch up on some rest and relaxation. 

Guests will find the hotel in Old Town at the corner of Eaton and Frances streets, within 10 minutes' walk of popular Duval Street. The immediate area is pleasantly busy with mom-and-pop shops and restaurants; Old Town Bakery and Eaton Bikes are each a few minutes' walk. The lively Sunset Pier, historic Ernest Hemingway Home, and Mallory Square are a five-minute drive. The Key West International Airport is a 10-minute drive. 

The guest rooms, like many in Key West, feel casual and beachy, but have a cleaner and more modern aesthetic than many. Pale green walls are accented with bright white trim and blinds, while the modern wood-grain wallpaper, turquoise-and-black-striped bed throws, and mix of classic nautical paintings and abstract wall art all lend youthful punch. There are Deluxe Queen, Double Queen, and Queen rooms available, and all have free Wi-Fi, flat-screen TVs, coffeemakers, safes, mini-fridges, and air-conditioning. Bathrooms continue the white and pale-green color scheme, and have stall showers and hairdryers. Some rooms have wet bars. The wood-plank walkways leading to the rooms feel like balconies, and are dotted with patio furniture. 

Beside the heated, outdoor pool is a palm-shaded breakfast courtyard offering patio furniture and lounge chairs. There’s a wooden breakfast buffet counter under a canopy tent, with a water cooler and a wicker basket filled with free newspapers. Guests have the option to park for free on the street, though spaces are limited. A public parking garage is available three blocks away. The hotel also provides concierge services, helping with tour information and reservations. Wi-Fi is free.
