Dans l'épisode Mad Men (spoiler alert!) De l'AMC cette semaine, la petite miss Peggy Olson et Duck ont eu, euh, une "rencontre" à The Pierre . Ce n'est pas la première fois que la propriété NYC a fait une apparition sur le spectacle; Au cours de la première saison, Don Draper a eu une rencontre difficile avec l'héritière du grand magasin Rachel Menken dans le restaurant blanc de la nappe de l'hôtel pour solliciter son aide avec une campagne publicitaire.
Ces jours-ci, ces nappes blanches ont disparu . Dans un monde autre que celui de la télévision, l'emblématique hôtel de Manhattan a fait peau neuve cet été après avoir subi une rénovation de 100 millions de dollars - et évidemment (mises à jour récentes ou non) le look de The Pierre tel que représenté sur Mad Men, début des années 60, n'est pas tout à fait le même Pierre que nous visiterions aujourd'hui. Souhaitez-vous, Monsieur Modern Ad Exec, prendre encore la bombasse de bureau à cet endroit pour charmer la culotte d'elle? Ou a-t-il été d'une sorte de "dans le téléviseur plasma et sortir avec l'élégance sensuelle"? Allons-y, allons-nous?

Alors: um, ressemble à un vieil hôtel avec beaucoup de détails et un tapis que vous ne voulez probablement pas renverser le vin rouge.
Maintenant: Certaines des finitions semblent être les seules touches old-school restantes dans la salle – bien que les numéros de literie 2009 et oreillers moelleux font certainement le lit semble un peu plus peluche que l'interprétation de Mad Men de l'ancienne salle. Bien qu'il soit difficile de comparer le facteur sexy du matin sans une femme nue au lit.
Puis : Bump votre noggin sur cette tête de lit probablement blessé, hein? En outre: ces draps rayés sont assez luxueux.
Maintenant : les draps blancs solides (ils sont Frette!) Et une tête de lit résistante à la bosse et à la bosse semblent être beaucoup plus cool. Aussi: hey là, miroir sur le mur.
Ensuite: L'œuvre de cette suite a l'air d'avoir été achetée dans la rue à Manhattan quelque part. Le canapé bleu et or et les bouteilles géantes de l'alcool sont les vedettes ici.
Maintenant: Bonne chance pour retrouver l'ambiance avec les bouteilles d'alcool disponibles dans les minibars dans les chambres traditionnelles . En outre, la photo sur la droite – du salon dans une suite à une chambre – n'a pas le même rembourrage étouffant sur les meubles. Et l'art semble un peu arraché du livre Magic Eye de votre petit frère. Subtil fond d'écran a remplacé la peinture verte vicié des années 60 tout au long.
Oh, et ces fleurs fraîches que vous voyez dans les coups de Mad Men ? L'hôtel nous assure que des fleurs fraîches vous attendront dans votre chambre à votre arrivée. Certaines choses ne changent pas – mais j'espère juste que votre femme n'a pas d'allergies.
