At the end of a long car park sits a low-rise building with gray stone and wood beam portico marking the entrance to Parque Cristobal Gran Canaria. Stepping inside, the lobby is styled in a similar vein, with a quirky mix of silver-topped columns, horizontal-striped walls, and an antique-looking chandelier. Modern elements come in the form of interactive screens offering check-in and local information. The complex itself is unique for the area, comprising row upon row of whitewashed standalone bungalows that stretch throughout extensive grounds. Grounds aren't exactly lush, but they're well-manicured with narrow footpaths, sculpted shrubbery, and mature palm trees. There are also two pool terraces -- one catering to families with young children and the other for those primarily seeking relaxation. Daily activities and evening entertainment by the animation team, plus the hotel's splash park and kids' club make this hotel best suited to families.

The hotel is located in the center of the popular resort of Playa del Ingles, near the southern tip of Gran Canaria island. While the immediate surrounds is largely other hotels, it's just a 10- to 15-minute walk to the main retail, dining, and nightlife district centered around the Yumbo Centrum shopping mall. The resort's famous long stretch of beach is a 10-minute drive away and there travelers will find a range of water sports, as well as a nudist section. The nature reserve of Maspalomas, which has spectacular dunes and a lighthouse, is also around a 10-minute drive away. Gran Canaria Airport is roughly 20 minutes away by car. There's ample free parking on-site for travelers with cars. 

The hotel has 233 one- and two-bedroom standalone bungalows decorated in a mixture of colorful modern and muted traditional styling. Lower category and Premium rooms have tile floors and neutral-tone furnishings, some of which are painted olive green. Living and dining areas have a homey vibe, featuring the same color scheme, framed prints of the beach, and granite-top kitchenettes. The Elegance Bungalows have more contemporary furnishings that include wooden floors, white leather headboards, and living areas with white plastic chairs and modern canvas artwork on the walls. 

Across the board, units include open-plan living/dining rooms featuring 32-inch flat-screen TVs with satellite channels, plus ceiling fans and kitchenettes that include fridges, two-burner stoves, microwaves, and kettles. Bungalows with Kid Suites also have bright comforters, PlayStation consoles, and high chairs. All have outdoor terraces with loungers, while bathrooms have shower/tub combos, wall-mounted hairdryers and toiletries. Note that not all rooms have air-conditioning and use of safes requires a fee. Reports also suggest free Wi-Fi doesn't extend to all accommodation.

It's the child-friendly facilities that really take center stage, with one of the two pool areas totally dedicated to the little ones -- it features waterslides, a splash pool, and a water playground with fountains and jets. There are also two kids' clubs, a mini-disco, and a range of sports and themed activities for children of all ages. Adults keep busy with nightly entertainment, a small spa and gym, and a quieter pool area with a hydro-massage section and plenty of loungers.

The hotel's main restaurant serves a buffet-style breakfast, lunch, and dinner, as well as occasional show cooking and themed nights such as barbecue and Mexican. Breakfast is not included as standard, but there are various plan options from bed-and-breakfast to all-inclusive. A second eatery, Splash Gourmet, has a pleasant poolside terrace and offers a la carte meals and snacks. There's also a pool bar surrounded by air hockey and billiards tables.
