Klaus K Hotel has a charming, brick facade with white, ornate window frames. Inside, the posh property offers a luxe lounge where guests can partake in the morning Finnish breakfast or enjoy a cup of coffee at wood tables lined with brown-leather and plush-multicolored chairs. Dark and modern, with artistic touches ranging from abstract paintings to gold strands dangling from overhead lighting, the lounge makes a unique statement. On a lower level, handsome booths with velvety couches and pillows create a lounge-y space at Ahjo Bar, which gets loud in the evenings when young people come to dance. In one room, guests can play pool at the modern billiards table while watching the large, flat-screen TV. The Italian restaurant, Toscanini, feels like a country kitchen with stamped tin ceilings, black-and-white tile floors, and rustic wood and metal furnishings. A solarium at the rooftop Sky Bar allows guests to relax over drinks and take in panoramic views of the city. 

Klaus K Hotel is located on a busy street within a five-minute walk of Esplanadi Park, where visitors come to picnic and enjoy live music in the summer. There are plenty of shops, cafes, and restaurants within walking distance. The harbor and Market Square, where vendors sell Finnish foods except in winter, are both within a 10-minute walk. The airport is around a 25-minute drive, or about 40 minutes via the number three tram from the Kaivokatu stop, a few minutes' walk north.

The posh rooms at Klaus K Hotel are categorized as emotions, such as Mystical and Envy, inspired by the Finnish national epic poem Kalevala. Decor is modern, stylish, and fairly dramatic, with touches such as velvet pin-button headboards, geometric-print throws, and cylindrical lamps. All rooms have flat-screen TVs with DVD/CD players, custom beds by Finnish brand Unikulma, safes, minibars, and blackout shades. There is free Wi-Fi with the option of upgrading to faster service for a fee. Bathrooms are modern and sleek, with white tile and textured wood paneling; stall showers with rainfall showerheads have Malin + Goetz bath products. Premium rooms offer such luxuries as roof terraces, whirlpools, and coffee/tea facilities. Some guest have found storing clothes a challenge, as not all rooms have wardrobes. Guests recommend requesting rooms away from the street and nightclub to avoid the noise. 

There are two, well-reviewed breakfasts offered at the hotel (though not included in rates), one with country-style Tuscan dishes served in the charming Italian restaurant, Toscanini, and one Finnish breakfast served in the lounge area. There are also a bar/club, Ahjo, where people come to dance and sip cocktails, and an enclosed bar on the rooftop with city views. The LivingRoom restaurant is available for group lunches or private dinners, and serves coffee and snacks throughout the day. There is a 24-hour fitness center, and the Helsinki Day Spa offers massages and facials; the sauna is set to open in spring 2015. Meeting rooms are available with audiovisual equipment updated in 2014; the Rake ballroom, a lovely former concert hall, can accommodate up to 120 people. Guests receive a discount for the public parking garage below the hotel.
