Hotel Pleasant Haveli is housed in a two-story yellow sandstone haveli (city mansion) with a mind-bogglingly ornate facade featuring intricately carved jalis (Rajastjani stone screens), archways, and balconies. A similar decor scheme continues in the interiors, which feature bas-relief and carved decorative features on the walls and yellowish-cream marble floors paired with yellow-glass lantern-style light fixtures. Common areas include a large rooftop area with lots of bench seating covered with cushions, plus an indoor/outdoor restaurant with city views. The hotel attracts budget travelers, including lots of backpackers and younger guests, and some of the rooms sleep up to three people, making it a good option for those traveling in trios. 

Hotel Pleasant Haveli is located in the touristy center of Jaisalmer, near plenty of other hotels, shops, and restaurants catering to travelers. A dry cleaner/laundry facility is located right outside the main entrance and there are many other historic haveli-type homes in the area, some of which are open to visitors. It's under a 10-minute walk to the gates of Jaisalmer Fort. The 16th-century royal cenotpaths at Bada Bagh take 10 minutes to reach by car. The railway station is a 10-minute drive away, while getting to the airport takes around a half-hour.

This hotel offers nine rooms across three categories: snug Cozy Rooms, slightly larger Pleasant Double/Twins, and Sandstone Rooms, which are larger still. All rooms are air-conditioned and come with small flat-screen TVs. Interiors have an air of industrial-desert chic, with either exposed gray-brick or pale golden sandstone walls complete with bas relief decorative features. Furniture is of the classic, dark-wood variety, while brightly hued silk linens add a startling surge of pink or purple. Traditional arched nook-style window seats are a much needed lovely touch. Bathrooms are contrastingly modern, with black-and-off-white marble tiling and sleek walk-in rainfall showers. Hairdryers and hand soap are provided, but guests should bring their own shampoo and conditioner. 

This hotel doesn't offer much in terms of amenities, though there is a nice rooftop restaurant with great city views. Expect Indian and international food for breakfast, lunch, and dinner (though the restaurant closes between meal times). The hotel also offers free pickup from the railway and bus stations (by auto rickshaw). Staff can arrange for car rentals and tours on request, including camel safaris (day trips and overnight). Wi-Fi is free throughout the hotel.
