Aragona Palace is a 50 room, mid-range hotel located near the port of Ischia Island. Though the location is convenient and bustling, noise from the harbor and nightlife are common. The highlights of the property are a rooftop solarium with a small round pool, a pretty spa with an indoor pool fed by healing thermal water, and health and beauty treatments. Rooms are decorated in tones of blue, and some have gorgeous views of the port, though some terraces face a wall. All-inclusive packages are available, and Wi-Fi is free.
Scene
Light and breezy decor
A small, mostly functional reception area and lobby is decorated in hues of blue and white, giving the space a light and breezy vibe. There's a huge photograph of the port behind the blue and white marble reception desk. Dark wooden armchairs topped with blue cushions are lined up against a wall partition, one of the few indoor places where guests can sit. Most of the common spaces are outdoors, to take advantage of the port and hillside views. Many of the guests are here to utilize the thermal spa pool and receive beauty treatments.
Location
Next to the Ischia port
Located smack on the harbor front, Aragona Palace is easily reachable by boat; the pier where the frequent hydrofoils from Naples arrive is just a three minute walk. Regular service to other islands in the Gulf of Naples, such as Capri, are reachable by hydrofoil in 45 minutes. All the major tourist attractions in Ischia port are within fast walking distance (many are in areas where cars are not allowed). Getting to the Aragonese Castle, for example, takes 30 minutes. To reach other villages in Ischia, there are bus stops close to the hotel. The immediate neighborhood is bustling and lively, which can translate into unwanted noise inside the Aragona Palace Hotel.
Rooms
Simple, unpretentious decor and some ocean views
Rooms are divided in three categories: Standard Rooms with no view, Superior (from the first to the third floor, with a small balcony), and Deluxe Rooms (on the fourth floor, with a terrace) with a port view. First floor rooms don't have views and their outdoor terraces face a wall. Interiors are simple and unpretentious with white walls and blue floors. Decor is minimal and plain with light wooden furniture that recalls a maritime style. Bathrooms are clean and decorated in a dominant blue color. The name of the hotel is engraved in big letters on the mirror. All rooms come standard with free Wi-Fi, Sky satellite TV, minibars, and white robes. Noise from the nearby port and bustling neighborhood can be a problem.
