The standard rooms are a bit on the small side, and few rooms have balconies. Sitting on a cobblestone street, its tall wooden-house exteriors stick out and immediately grabs attention among the surrounding hotels. Interiors are cozy and classic; antique furnishings and artwork give the hotel a charming feel. The Terrace Restaurant has the best spot in the hotel lovely panoramic views of the Blue Mosque, Little Hagia Sophia, and Marmara Sea from the hotels' rooftop. The spa is quite simple in design, with the minimal decor and furniture giving it a slightly cold feel. The fitness center is also a bit small and has little natural light, though a decent selection of cardio and weight-training equipment. While there is a business center and meeting rooms available, The Home Suites mostly attracts leisure travelers, including families and couples.

Surrounded by other hotels, restaurants, cafes, and shops, there is plenty to do in the immediate surrounding area. It's a five-minute walk to the Blue Mosque and Museum of Turkish and Islamic Arts. Sultanahmet Square is an eight-minute walk from the hotel. Hagia Sophia and the Basilica Cistern are both 10-minutes' on foot. Topkapi Palace, Grand Bazaar, and the Archaeological Museum are each a 15-minute walk from the hotel. There's a bus stop within a three-minute walk from the hotel and it's a 30-minute drive to Istanbul Ataturk Airport.

Each of the 34 guest rooms at The Home Suites have a classic charm, though some guests may find the look to be a bit dated and the rooms a bit on the small side. Decor includes parquet flooring, antique-style furniture, light walls and linens, dark draped-back curtains, and limited artwork. All units include air-conditioning, flat-screen TVs, minibars, free bottled water, tea- and coffee-making facilities, desks, safes, telephones, and free Wi-Fi. Bathrooms include shower/tub combos, hairdryers, magnifying mirrors, and house-brand toiletries. Bathrobes and slippers are provided in all rooms and suites.The Executive Suites feature a balcony and cater for up to four guests.
