There is, to put it bluntly, nothing buzz-worthy about the Sultanahmet Park. Wedged between two other commercial buildings, the hotel’s thin stuccoed exterior is unexceptional, and the common areas that lay beyond its ornamental metal door are unlikely to inspire any Instagram posts. That said, the cocoa-and-cream lobby is a comfortable spot with seating in assorted traditional styles, a smattering of reading material and racks filled with helpful tourist info. Directly behind it is a small winter garden-style room where breakfast is served each morning for an added fee, plus an even smaller, rather overgrown green space for open-air lounging. When you factor in functional guest rooms and an enviable central address, the hotel becomes a logical choice for price-conscious vacationers who value location above all. 

Located on a narrow one-way street in the heart of the Sultanahmet district, this seven-story hotel promises a calm, convenient setting close to many must-sees. The nearby park for which it's named is home to the Hippodrome and adjacent to the Blue Mosque; other historic attractions -- including the Basilica Cistern, the Grand Bazaar, Hagia Sophia, and Topkapi Palace -- can be reached in 15 minutes or less on foot, making this a smart choice for vacationers. Proximity to a pair of tram stations (Cemberlitas and Sultanahmet, both about four minutes away) allows easy access to further flung sites. Ataturk International Airport can also be accessed by public transit, though the hotel’s add-on airport service shaves time off the trip. If you’ve rented a car, affordable public parking is available a short distance away; guests who would prefer to pedal can rent bikes on-site.

Guest rooms in the Sultanahmet Park are on the cramped side but nevertheless appealingly presented. Dark wood furnishings and, in the case of doubles, a pair of chocolate-hued armchairs, ground the design scheme with neutral tone-on-tone wallpaper adding some polish. Matching accent pillows and drapes complete the look (in upper-floor rooms at the back of the hotel, the latter pull back to reveal a bonus feature: camera-ready views of the gorgeous Blue Mosque). A matching color palette carries over into the tiled bathrooms. Like the bedrooms, these are attractive and functional but small; each has just enough space for a toilet, a pedestal sink and a modern glass-door shower. Amenities are modern, and rooms are outfitted with air-conditioners, hairdryers, safes, minibars (though no tea/coffee-making equipment), wall-mounted flat-screen TVs with satellite channels and free Wi-Fi.

Not surprisingly, features are few at this pint-sized three-pearl property. You won’t find fitness or business facilities here; nor is there an on-site restaurant, though a buffet breakfast is served at extra cost each morning in a slightly dingy back room that opens on to a small garden.
