The exterior of Hotel Savoia is a bit old fashioned, but well-maintained, and not too different in appearance to the nearby hotels. A small, outdoor patio near the entrance with tables and chairs provides a nice place to relax, although it is a touch close to the street. Stepping into the hotel, the scene is entirely different. With dark tile floors, rust orange walls, and a large metallic and mosaic bench, the main lobby is modern and funky. For the most part, this decor permeates through the hotel with subtle variations. With its relaxed, elegant atmosphere, it is a place great for families and anyone who enjoys the beach and outdoors.

Hotel Savoia is located in the historic section of Alassio and within a short walking distance to the town's many restaurants, shops, and bars. It is situated at the end of Via Milano, a street where hotels are lined up on top of each other along the beach. To the side of the hotel is the historic Saracen tower; a tall, circular stone tower built in the 16th century to help defend the town. Because of its proximity, the tower has actually become the logo of the hotel. Alassio is a popular destination for mountain bikers and hikers, as it is near numerous mountain trails. The hotel is also conveniently located close to many of the area's main attractions, including the Parish Church of St. Ambrogio (10-minute walk), Budello di Alassio (15-minute walk), and Marina di Alassio (4-minute drive).

All rooms are clean and spacious, with comfortable Sleep Number by Select Comfort mattresses, air-conditioning, a mini-fridge, safe, flat-screen TV, coffee and tea, and large windows -- some which open onto balconies. The room decor varies, as certain rooms have been newly renovated. The updated rooms have modern decor with light grey walls, white furniture, and tufted headboards. The bathrooms are gorgeous, with dark stone floors, sleek appliances, and a metallic tiled shower with a bench. They also come with Amande toiletries and fabric slippers. The tiled headboards and chestnut colored furniture of the older rooms are still nice, but look dated compared to the newer rooms.

Hotel Savoia is situated right on the beach, so much of the hotel is centered around the beach and coastline views. A small private area on the sand is sectioned off for guests, although there is a fee to access it. However, it is free to relax on one of the lounge chairs on the large Solarium Sun Terrace, which overlooks the sea. The hotel features two restaurants, Profumo dui Timo, which specializes in Mediterranean cuisine, and La Prua, which specializes in seafood, both with fantastic views of the water. There is also the elegant Savoia Bar, where guests can unwind with a cocktail. Room service is available, but only for limited hours. Guests who want to explore the town can take out one of the free bike rentals. Families also have access to the free kids club that hosts children from all the nearby hotels.
