An oceanfront location is the highlight of this Best Western, with freebies such as breakfast, Wi-Fi, and parking adding to its value. Extra amenities are limited here: there is a small outdoor pool (bordered by the street and a parking lot) and an off-site fitness center. But for the price and included perks, it's a great deal.

The 118-room Hampton Inn offers similar freebies as the Best Western Oceanfront (breakfast, free Wi-Fi), plus free treats in the lobby (popcorn, cookies, and coffee). As expected at a chain hotel, rooms here aren't particularly stylish or exciting, but they do have massive flat-screen TVs, and the hotel has a relatively large outdoor pool (although it's surrounded by the parking lot). A short drive across the bridge from Downtown Jacksonville, the hotel can't compete with Best Western's ocean-facing location, but it is a nice choice for budget travelers visiting the downtown area. 

The Holiday Inn Express has the standard amenities of a mid-range chain hotel, like a small but pleasant pool with lounge chairs and a tiny but up-to-date fitness center. However, the spacious rooms (most of which have a microwave and mini-fridge) and great freebies (Wi-Fi, breakfast, self-parking) boost the hotel's value. Families often prefer the Kid Suites, with a separate room with colorful bunk beds and a flat-screen TV. The beach, however, is a sketchy 15-minute walk away; if a beachfront stay is a priority, go for the Best Western Oceanfront (and prepare for slightly higher rates).
